i'm not sure who you are but thanks that's a really nice compliment i worked very hard on theat charcter.

 

while we're reminiscing i enjoyed aegis alras as aislin. back when i rp'd seriously and was immersed. lotc sure was nice before i got on teamspeak. before that, all the characters felt real. i saw Sir Wyvernos as a stoic knight, not a fresh black guy. instead of a bungling plumber, bungo was a powerful elven prince... those were fun. being at the gates of alras when al'khazar fell was one of the most exciting experiences ever--i hid in a corner of the library to play during that time since i was in china with the time difference. 

 

everything afterwards was fun too, but it just became very ooc-based afterwards even with the fun rp. i probably wouldn't have hung around so long if i never got in ts and thus made friends, but i bet lotc would've been incredible while it lasted for me. m

My name is nppeck and I was a GM twice back in 2012-2013 and 2014. I'm not sure how many people still actually remember me. Nor do I know if anyone is actually going to read this, but it's worth posting anyways to reminisce.  

 

When I first started on LOTC back in 2011, I had no idea what was going on. I had seen a few video's from Sage Candle's youtube videos which by the time I joined had all been destroyed. I joined a small guild at the time called the White Ravens which had a lot of holdings in Malinor (I'm not even sure Malinor even exists anymore). This was Aegis and in the span of a few months, a whole lot happened. Alk'hazar the capital of Oren fell, Galahad and Renatus were born, and eventually Aegis itself ended. Asulon was really the height of my time at LOTC. I had a small town at the very edge of the Cloud Temple which became a huge RP hub. With a few friends, we managed to create an entire new nation called Seventis and even accumulated 150 signatures to make it. Special shootout to Relgard on this.

 

Becoming a staff member was a very new experience and in some ways I enjoyed it far more than any RP I did. Under Danny, I was an AT member and then a GM. To be perfectly frank, doing modreqs was not the most interesting part of being a GM. The level of intrigue was what I loved.  At this time, there was a lot of sentiment against staff members such as SerenityOnyx of Mori fame, Respiren, Mogroka. Availer even returned for a while which was quite an crapshow. LOTC has been such a large part of my life so I'd like to thank all the people I can think of that made it such a special experience.

Right then, we're talking late 2011, and a prepubescent prick called Romulus 'Honeydew' Dreadshade logs into LoTC. Didn't have a clue beyond what I'd seen on YouTube, and we were all pretty **** at RP back then, so I just wandered about and talked bollocks to anyone who'd listen. A few of the early ones in Aegis were @Rusty7x, @Tigergamer, @Aislin, @Roze, @Spinzir and @The Zealot (Sir_Wyvernos). Aegis was a right old laugh, meeting up with the folks at the FoA, being a shitty builder for Alras, and watching it all eventually burn to the ground by the likes of @Lym, who I later became friends with (Das Beer Boot, ja?)

 

Along came Asulon, the banterous land of drama, and with it, Alras did one, (B)Roseus Aquila (#represent) came about, and I met the goblin boys, @Jingeh, @Jangle, @K'orr/Kungg <3 and Reman (whatever the hell his forum name is these days) and the OG Broseus Crew was formed with @Danny, @Ascendant, @Eledyr, @Dilara/Sylva (lotteje13) (when she turned up), @Lirinya, and all the other awesome people I've probably forgotten (still love yous though). Not gonna lie, that was my best experience on here. Despite all the drama, the constant arguments and the huge staff/staff and staff/player divide there was, I laughed it off with some of the most chill people around, and had my first stint as App Team (better than VAT, just saying). Also, Romulus died, Rip.

 

On the way to Anthos, I lived in a tent with the likes of @Alec, @Akorta, @Wode, and all the others I've already tagged and cba tagging again (you get one mention, deal with it), and that was also a whole load of fun. In Anthos, I booted off and preached about some god that probably doesn't exist, made a ripped-ass dark elf called Jex, and decided to leave. Oh, and I was App Team again for a bit (still better than VAT).

 

I might be logging back in again now, but who knows how often that'll continue, so I thought I'd take the time to shout out all the people that made a good 2 and-a-bit years of my life enjoyable. It's a shame we've all buggered off, the Teamspeak rants were always a laugh, and it's also a shame I cleaned out my computer about a year ago and lost all my screenshots and that, but realistically, they'll never do the experience justice. All I can really do is say thank you.

I'm telling you - an email campaign to all registered forum members about some special in-game event revolving around this and boom, you're gonna get a fair number of people back in play just to check things out.
