I stopped reading after this point, apart from the fact you need to clean up how the post is written.

If these enormous regions of land are unpopulated, they are unpopulated. Which is where the problems lies. If a faction has empty unpopulated land, they should lose it just because of #muhrealism. If a enemy is willing to drag through territory, and its taken back. That is a territorial war, which is fine, but when its that empty (many of them barely see more then a couple of people per day.) It's just... not pretty in the end.

I think one of us misunderstood, re-read my whole intire post and then fix your one or don't and I just misunderstood your post.

Let me rephrase this then.

  • If a Faction has to deal with unpopulated land, then its unpopulated. It shouldn't be built in for 'protective' reasons. It leaves boring empty towns everywhere.
  • You explaining that it creates roleplay, when it really doesn't. Guard roleplay on this server is immensely tedious, and extremely boring. I live with a player that IS a guard, and even I get stressed out with how much it ruins actual meaningful roleplay.
  • The happiness you have when you see a castle, sure you can meander in the beauty of it's construction, but.. no ones in it, It doesn't create roleplay.

Its best if we centralize again, and tighten up on a few region rules here or there. So we aren't seeing Felsen active 24/7, but the little town a stones throw east of it being empty.

Alright, I get it, now why is it so bad to give people something to be incharge of?

I don't get it, is it breaking your heart when you see settlements spread across the faction?

Its breaking my heart when I see empty settlements all over the place due to the neglect of one faction, yes.

I want to see Anthos again. It fit well, each place was clearly defined from the rest, and the few small settlements littered about had some sort of meaning or some relevancy at the time.

To put simply, we do not have the needed player base to give out settlements like it's candy. We simply don't and that is a fact. We should try and consider ourselves are a whole. We're here to RP and that becomes incredibly difficult when people spread so far out in settlements that probably don't have a road to them or have some obscure way of getting there. Sure we got fast travels but, they ruin RP.

the one thing that has always made oren so successful and attractive is that anyone can make it, the orenian dream.

youre given a plot of land b/c you proved yourself, proved to have competency, or maybe even just know people.

whether that land prospers or fails is your own doing, not oren's fault, so why should oren have to change whats made is so insanely popular and successful?  dont make no sense

last time oren tried to centralize to 'manors' in the capital is failed miserably and the nobles used them for about a week before moving off to find plots of land for themselves.

if youre looking for an "rp reason" the orenian population can just be very sparse and spread out throughout its territory, much like fishy pointed out with russia and its population centers- this is something that has real life merit as well.

oren is a proud conservative state, give us your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door...

and their success is based on their own merit, work ethic, and willingness to succeed

god bless these united vassals of Oren and god bless the empire

i am a god fearing orenian and im god damn proud of it

You guys have too mean god damn fast travels that it doesn't even make sense. It doesn't make sense.

It doesn't make sense.

It's stupid. It really is stupid. I swear at times there are more fast travels in oren then there are players roleplaying in all of Oren. "Muh nobles" no stop. There is no reason to have so many god damn fast travels. I mean, my god people, seriously take a serious look at yourselves. There is a fast travel that has three or four fast travels inside of it. I ain't saying go down to one, but seriously consider going down to a single digit. Please. It's really stupid.

And using gift politics and calling that success is sorta funny. Considering that that is exactly how North Korea works. And yes, I am being absolutely serious. They directly gift people that 'prove' themselves with Western cars, money, houses, etc. But consider I play a race that has killed people for their race...ah well fantasy is just that fantasy right?

Now now calm your panties, I ain't being super serious. Oren is the default kingdom for the most accessible race on the server and follows the most familiar fantasy culture. Humans and elves will always be popular no matter what as they are the least challenging to play. For the elves or Oren to fail there would have to be an effort for it to fail in all honesty.

Regardless I don't really mean anything other than you guys really do have too many locations and fast travels. It makes Oren look really clunky non-immersive. It's really sad too because a lot of these builds are really good but honestly, I stopped going to them. Save for the Bars I have never had RP in any of these houses no matter how often I visited.

Anyway, passing out now, too tired to make a rational thought.

too many fast travels.

Please make slight reduction.

P.S. To that Russian map, I bet in those 100 people per mile, I bet there isn't a city every half kilometer :)

if you have half a brain you will notice that the capital (felsen) always has people there and they are always active.  fast travels have caused this as it is a fast travel hub and thus all the fast travels heading to one location has centralized rp around it.  fast travels have effectively consolidated rp (but you must think).

ghost towns are pure boggin tho.  i keep telling big_cracks @Cracker to make a feudal code that demands that you actively have ____ amount of people depending on your rank.  however, you won't restrict the amount of vassals oren has, and if you try to, then oren will conquer something to raise that number and you will cry more. but to be fair the builds arent hurting anyone the map is big enough to have all these memeshit builds that no1 ever goes to and i can laugh at people for their failures at leading.

if you think road rp is fun, i guarantee you within the first week of your fun road rp there will be atleast 8 feedback thread about bandits, and you will cry.  road rp is just *sprint jumps past person.

yo fast travels are good dont touch them.  if you think otherwise you are wrong and are a fool.
