func_Soap 410 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Feel free to make a suggestion for how else the server can raise enough money without introducing systems commonly seen in Free-to-play games such as CoC, Fractured space or LotC. Oh wait...

This whole donation business seems quite sketchy, overall when looking at minecraft servers in general. Players on LotC are customers as of the EULA implementation (as demanded by Mojang recently). Old donations are grandfathered into the new system. We do not have any venues available for donations as of the moment.

This is too... Money grabbey and lame. To be fair, and I think you'll agree with me here, I prefer "money-grabbey" (as you say) over a non-operational server any day. Some people donate out of goodwill for sure, but not nearly enough people do to cover costs. This isn't out of greed or selfishness, if we were quite frankly LotC would be shut down long ago in favour of a business that would make more money. Also at the bottom of your first paragraph you make it sound like we're on the brink of running out of funds I thought tythus had sucessfully stock piled enough funds to keep the server going for a few more years? Essentially, Mojang didn't like the fact that we were using the term 'donators' and then rewarding people with perks for it. They told us that we couldn't use those terms, and as such we are complying, not marketing. If we had stock piled enough funds to keep the server running for a few years I think it's safe to say we'd just retire to a vacation home. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted May 10, 2016 So if I am a customer I would like to file a formal complaint against the management as a paying client of Lord of the Craft, mainly in concern of the loss of soulbinding at my level of purchase without notice. I am invoking the Right of Infornation in the Consumer Bill of Rights to question the change in value of the soulbind perk formerly issued to the Diamond VIP ($100) seriously why did you move soulbinding

Edit: Wait, what? Soul binding is EULA compliant and still included in Diamond VIP. Please check it again it should be functional.

Quoting more than my high-school exams, yes. Gifting goes to other accounts, therefor other accounts meaning your own but why not just redeem them on the other accounts instead of the main and go through all that bs? When purchased you've the option of either redeeming them or gifting; however once gifted that option no longer becomes available. However you cant separate the purchases down into like.. 1000 here, 1200 there and 3513 over there. Its all or nothing.
