Sky 0 Share Posted June 11, 2016 Elibar Cattle “The Cattle of Cernunnos” ~ The Elibar Cattle, otherwise referred to as ‘The Cattle of Cernunnos’, are descendants of an unusual breed of cattle that have a tendency towards congregating towards the groves that were grown, and nurtured, by those of the druidic order. A strong bulk cattle that are not only distinguishable by their improved muscles over generations, but their near-pure white coats, gentle cream horns and light salmon coloured pupils. The lifespan of this breed differs greatly between the genders, due to their traits that tend to mostly stick with them as either a cow, or a bull, and through rarity a cow may show traits of a bull, and vice versa. A cow, naturally lives till the late age of seventy years, and the bull naturally lives till the ripe old age of fifty-five, many have questioned as to why they remain alive longer than the other breeds of cattle, though most put it to the fact they live in the druidic groves. The calves tend to be less solemn than their older counterparts, though it is understandable due to their ages. An Elibar Cattle is considered a calf till they are roughly of the age of seven years, which is around the age that each gender tends to take on the traits that their hormones, and genetics, begin to process in them. Until then, they usually explore the lands they are in and stick with one another, more than the adults. Being more trusting to strangers at this age. Though, whomever the eldest bull tends to respect, so do they. The cows tend to be protective of the calves, always seen around them and keeping their eyes upon the young Elibar Cattle. They tend to congregate among the herd, protecting one another in the numbers and remaining loyal to one another, when one is injured, the rest do what they can to help the injured party, and when a calf is in danger, they assist regardless of which one was the mother. Not being entirely trusting towards strangers at first. Though, whomever the eldest bull tends to respect, so do they. The bulls tend to be overly protective of the herd, eyes always looking around at both cows and calf alike, and tend to constantly go on walks both around the herd’s current location, and the grove in which they are inhabiting at the time. Though with all cattle, the eldest bull tends to be found laying down, with his heavily set muscles constantly tensed to show off an air of strength, and display him as the leader. Like cows, they aren’t entirely trusting towards strangers, but if someone/something proves themselves to them, they’ll be trusted. Though, whomever the eldest bull tends to respect, so do they. The diet in which this breed tend to rely upon is mainly a herbivorous diet, eating grass of the area. Though, unlike other breeds, also eat the roots and differing segments, of both plants and trees alike, their teeth thick and jaws strong, making it somewhat easier for them to bite into some of the tougher roots that would otherwise cause extreme pain, to teeth shattering with other breeds, or other animals. It is also not uncommon for them to eat from the grove’s farmland, be it wheat, carrots, potatoes, or beetroot. The Elibar Cattle give off differing symbolic means for the Calf, Cow and Bull, each easily being able to be used in literature, or as one’s personal idea of a connecting animal. The Calves give off; Youthfulness, Naivety and One with a strong path. The Cows give off; Protectiveness, Motherly and One with great love. The Bulls give off; Strength, Leadership and One with intense loyalty.
Corvoo 562 Share Posted June 11, 2016 I think this is well written. And I almost always support little additions like this that really do nothing but add to roleplay, and help flesh some things out. I really hope to see this accepted. Could be fun!

Vanya-ZM 14 Share Posted June 11, 2016 I can't wait for some cow RP now. This is well written and even though it's a small addition, I think it's pretty cool. Keep up the good work sky +1
MajesticOwyn 334 Share Posted June 11, 2016 A minor addition to the lore, I dont see any reason not to accept more animals of this nature. +1
BrandNewKitten 2789 Share Posted June 11, 2016 I don't think something like this requires a lore submission though.

I was informed that (since I already wrote it) that the place to put it up, would be here, from a lore master. I mean, I could role-play it being a thing but, hey it having confirmation as a Lord of the Craft cattle breed, would be pretty neat. 9 hours ago, Fury_Fire said: Do these cows taste better than a normal cow if eaten? Disgusting, Veganism is the true path to enlightenment. Though, they taste like regular beef but, usually eaten once dead from natural causes due to the location they live (around druidic groves), so in their prime, who knows!
