All I see is paragraphs of bullshit and fanciful writing while in truth nothing will change from the current status quo

also surprised the tech admins haven't noticed the myriad of articulate feedback threads and complaints about 1.9 and nexus combat / professions and done the slightest to address them!

*captures the rare Viscen!

You are entitled to your own opinion, even if you are wrong of course.

No telinir I love more concise systems and framework but the problem has persisted that nexus professions is incredibly grindy and that nexus pvp is far too open to meta abuse and imbalance (though some tweaks finally made it bearable) while 1.9's combat system has only exacerbated the issue. People who have done combat to death and understand the biggest flaws in the system and offered solutions but it's consistently swept under the rug and ignored even though it remains some of the most crucial foundational elements of a server

We've both been around long enough to know I don't get involved in combat anymore. There isn't any Nexus pvp though, it'd be 1.9 & imbalanced crafting.

It's hard to imagine a leadership team that's effective in the way that you describe. When I was a GM, I tried to make a lot of changes. I tried to bring back majority default, and I tried to reintroduce the -1 button to the forums. In both cases, my case won clear, concise majorities on polls with a variety of options, and in both cases a select one or two admins decided that they were smarter than the whole GM team combined and trashed the ideas.

If you want to create an image of inter-staff cooperation, you should start by having inter-staff cooperation. I grew extremely frustrated in my position as GM because it felt like over and over again we were ignored by people who thought they were better than us. It was a horrible, toxic enviorment to try to work in and I know for a fact that dozens of other GMs have burnt themselves out in the same way. Some of the greatest members of our community have been reduced to meming, steaming piles of brainlessness and I attribute most of 'em to being GM.

Frankly, I feel a bit silly with this "Event Department" tag and it hasn't made me feel any more a "part of the team" since I got it. I get the sentiment, I really do, but just ask your own staff how they feel about this and you'll get the answer that you've been very pointedly ignoring for the last day or so. Idk how the GMs or the rest of the admins feel, but I think I speak for the vast majority of other members of staff when I say that please, at least change the name back. Event Team sounds cool. Event Department literally makes me want to put a pair of scissors through my left eye.

S I C K. Ok I'm half joking about that, I won't nitpick there.

But if 'imbalanced crafting and 1.9 pvp' are issues, remove them, thats what we want

Well yeah, it's not difficult to say a blanket statement like for instance, Matt did nothing as an Administrator, is inherently wrong. Wouldn't you agree that statement wouldn't make sense to make?

Not really. I didn't really do much compared to my time as a GM so I could see why people might think that.

It's all about perspective. People who worked with me and had interactions with me know I did a bit, others think I did nothing.

MITTO’S POST

The reason why this is an issue is because mitto’s post is in direct confrontation to staff credibility and direction. As a staff member he commands a certain authority and his posts are attributed some level of legitimacy. As a result, when such a mistake is made it hurts the entirety of staff, both our image and motivation (and therefore productivity), regardless of where we stand.

Valid criticisms by staff members are allowed, and generally so as not to promote forum flames or drama the policy is that we discuss these in internal channels so that we can resolve it together quickly and efficiently. A good example of a valid criticism by staff would be Arik’s post, a reasoned and proper argument in a non inflammatory format. However, we most certainly prohibit our staff from making purposefully inflammatory content, especially when it provides no sense of improvement or compromise.

As such, mitto’s post was removed.

You realize most people don't care about most of these things? They just want effective PvP, crafting, and good new maps before the summer starts.

Have to agree. My personal opinion is that the staff should focus on achieving goals first and foremost.

That is true, most people really don't care about these things. But that doesn't give me clearance to ignore a group of people just because they are a minority in our community.

But you've ignored us so many times when we make feedback posts? lol or at least so it seems because nothing is happening.

Keyword, time is the most precious resource in development and we need lots of it to do our job.

Honestly, removing posts never worked out well for anyone
