THE FEDERATION OF OCEANIA

 

Oceania, with the permission of the Korean government, dispatches 10,000 Federal troops to what was formerly North Korea to aid in peacekeeping during the country's integration and reconstruction into the South Korean state. 

 

Australian and New Zealander markets also heavily invest in the rebuilding, re-education, and modernization of North Korea, and offer to allow the South Koreans a  low interest loan to help cover the monetary cost of reuniting and rebuilding their country. 

 

Humanitarian aid is also sent to North Korea, including tens of thousands of pounds of food, water, and various articles of clothing. Religious organizations from the Oceanic states, mainly Christian, also begin to flood North Korea in hopes of healing the decrepid soul as well as the body. ((MOD PLEASE))

After a successful visit from the Prime Minister of Japan, the media begins to propagate the diplomatic success of the meeting. 

 

A a nonaggression pact was signed between the two nations, free trade established, and technology exchanged: Australian Interceptors for the advanced Japanese anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense system. The new Australian fighter is designed to operate in maritime environments, able to launch from short island runways and federal aircraft carriers. The latest computer systems and a helmet HUD for pilots are to be incorporated into the new fighter, as well as enhanced armor designed to be reflective to laser sights, though FAR from impervious. It is also designed so that new weapon systems can be incorporated into it in the future, should the government choose to research or purchase compatible advanced weaponry for the fighter. THE UNITED KINGDOM

Brazilian Intervention

 

At 0800 hours, October 2nd, 2020, a claxon rang in the HMS Atlee, the aircraft carrier currently circling to the coast of southern Brazil. Although economic sanctions had been in place for roughly 42 days and eighteen hours by this point - primarily upon the big Brazilian primary sectors - no military action had yet been taken. Aboard the aircraft carrier are four Eurofighters and eight F-35 Lightning II’s. Exactly eight minutes later the dozen aircraft launch into the air, headed for their target of Sao Paulo. The planes are instructed to cause a distraction by firing at local military installations, approaching planes and other aircraft. They are not to travel too close to the city, instead drawing away heat.

 

Meanwhile on the other aircraft carrier in use by the Royal Navy a dozen Eurofighter’s are ready to launch off, transporting the far slower Eurocopter’s. Attack helicopters occupied by members of the special forces group, the SAS, they are guarded by the patrol of attack planes. All of these planes make a beeline to Brasilia, the nation’s capital, where the Eurofighters detach and the soldiers touch down in the Parque Nacional on the city’s northern border. Taking the 479 road southwards the soldiers are dressed in civilian clothes, having touched down far from the city, and are approaching the Palacio da Alvadora by 0100 hours.

 

Eighteen soldiers are present, amassed in the carpark by the president’s resident, only half an hour later. Each is armed with the new generation CH-12 and a full set of tactical gear. When the clock ticks over to 0145, the commencement of a final wave of the day’s consecutive air strikes that had targeted military encampments and naval bases close to Sao Paulo, the special forces cross over into the compound in an attempt to secure the residence and the President.

Kingdom of Thailand/Indochinese League

 

Domestic Governance 

 

The Junta's power remains secure, with little decent opposition due to the general population of Thailand wanting to keep with the Status Quo, the Government maintaining its stance on modernizing the nations infrastructure so that it can lay the foundations for the rest of the nations on the Indochinese Peninsula to modernize and compete with the rest of the world. 

 

Elections are held for the Countries regional representatives to the Indochinese League that have been formed with the candidates being vetted and approved by the officials in the Military to ensure their loyalty is to their King and Country. 

 

Indochinese League and Diplomacy

 

The Indochinese League is formed with humble beginnings with only two Countries being a part of it, however they are two of the three most populated Countries within the Indochinese Peninsula. The representatives from Thailand and Myanmar agree to a joint Military Doctrine to start the beginnings of a strong and modern Indochinese Military. A Flag is chosen to represent the Indochinese League also.

 

The Country of Vietnam is invited to join the Indochinese League, seeing as they are one of the Countries most effected by China infringing upon its Sovereignty. The representatives from Thailand and Myanmar remind that the League is designed to form a united front against aggression and imperialism from the greater powers in the region and that it promises to help Vietnam against China's actions in the South China Sea which infringe on Vietnam's waters. Free Trade Agreements are made with the Federation of Oceania and the State of Japan. With the latter having Private Companies contracted to help modernize the Thai Military which will then lead to much of the Indochinese Military being Modernized in the long run. 

 

Technological Development

 

The Thai wish to develop their own main battle tank so that they can begin to form an armored corps that will be able to meet up to the standards of the more powerful countries in Asia. They would hope that it would be on the same levels as the Great Powers of the World. (( 9 Pages ))

China begins to send troops ashore. Operating in a guard role these troops begin to evacuate the thousands of Chinese nationals by APC and helicopter. All Chinese helicopters and APCs are clearly marked as Chinese and the Chinese factories have had Chinese flags placed on their roofs.

The Turkish Republic

President Erdogan had a shocked look on his face, Germany had really just attempted to absorb entirety of the EU. They had attempted to take the sovereignty of Europe’s people right from their grasp. He and his most trusted advisors saw this as unacceptable. A statement was made denouncing Germany’s attempt at ripping the people of Europe’s sovereignty away from them. Anyone attempting to leave the EU would have the full backing of Turkey.

 

The ECOWAS and Turkish technological research agreement was extremely beneficial to both parties as each was climbing to reach their peak in economic and military power. They would be co-joining in ECOWAS top secret military project that was already started by ECOWAS scientist and engineers, Turkey’s top engineers were sent to assist them. As well as plans to the top secret multi-purpose fighter, and the brand new Templar-class destroyer. Plans for the Altay tank were scrap in favor of helping the ECOWAS’ research their MBT. Now the Turkish government would but their remaining resources into a developing a new assault weapon that would be the new front line weapon of Turkish troops. (5 Pages).

 

With the Templar-class destroyer completed, ECOWAS has been contracted out to build 4 of these destroyers. India has been sent an offer asking if they may contract out some of their dry docks to build several more destroyers. Back at home the construction of 3 destroyers begins (3 pages).

 

A recruiting campaign is started it will take place over several years, the target quota for every years is 100,000 new enlistees who would undergo extensive training over a course of 3 months once enlisted.

SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC

 

Ali Al Assad, laying out his new hopes for the nation, addressed the people of Syria and foreign nations. Over the last few years, he had reduced the army to around 60,000 men; reserve forces remained at 100,000 men, with Shia and Hezbollah militias haven withdrawn, the new president disassociating himself from such organisations. He had attempted to disarm the nation, and garrisoned these forces in Syria’s major population centres. Their role now remained as much in keeping law and order as acting as a typical military force. Over time, Syria's more moderate rebels had disarmed and returned to public life, and Islamist groups had been driven underground, targeting civilians in brutal terror attacks and suicide bombings. Assad had also, with foreign aid and the money expended previously on the war, imported large amounts of grain and building materials. This was but a temporary solution. The homes and food were of poor quality, the latter in small amounts, but it has allowed the government to attempt a more permanent solution to the terrible poverty of Syria. On the positive side, with the peace many refugees, along with their skills, have returned to their homeland.

 

He addressed publicly the nation states of the world. Pointing out the economic hardship of his country, he appealed for the removal of economic sanctions which had heavily damaged the country, particularly from NATO countries, as well as economic aid to Syria. He said:

President Trump was doomed. The whole world knew it. He had fantastically failed his country, the only good legacy left behind the massive increase in public education and the liberation of Korea. A second term was out of the question. So the question became, who would be the next US president? On the right wing, Marco Rubio had cinched the nomination, using strongly anti-China policies in his "America First" campaign to push himself ahead of Newsom. On the left wing, Elizabeth Warren was the nominee, the second female democratic nomination in 4 years. She had the advantage of being a constant critic of Trump long before he was president, and was polling highly among women and minority voters. Trump, while still theoretically running, is polling so abysmally that Kanye West has a better chance of being president than him.

As the votes pour in and the ballots are counted, in a public ceremony viewed all over the nation, the next American president will be Elizabeth Warren. The efforts by Rubio, though truly admirable, were not enough to convince the American populace that another Republican president was a good idea. President Warren makes a grateful acceptance speech, vowing to stop working so closely with China until America was in a better situation. 

Actions

President Warren takes no action within the first few days of presidency, but does begin a massive nation-wide debate on many issues such as the possible re-legalization of marijuana, and raising taxes on the top 35% of Americans. Lastly, as the military's latest pet project grows to a close, the US has now has a way to make missiles that can counter earth-to-space missiles, and missiles that are made to hit other spacecraft. Under the new reign of Pope Sergius IV, the Vatican City has been undergoing drastic changes. The new Pope has raised tithes on churches and admission to museums in an effort to increase the size of the treasury. The new Pope's views are radically different from the previous one's: Where Pope Francis was caring and kind, Pope Sergius is seems borderline fanatic. He makes public speeches emphasizing the power of God and the Church, broadcasting many on television, in an attempt to increase patriotism among Catholics. 

 

Actions

In addition to expanding the treasury and broadcasting public speeches, the Pope founds new outreach programs to spread Catholicism and reinforce Catholic ideals around the world. In addition, he opens two new museums in the Vatican, focusing on military history, and launches a series of ads on Italian T.V.

The Chinese public reacts positively to the new infrastructure and further modernization of their armed forces! [please stop asking me for moderator actions about public reactions, you control your own people, I need to focus on important moderation]

The Chinese efforts to combat piracy go with rather ineffective results. Though admirable, piracy in the region had already begun to slow due to the automation of trade as well as a relative return to stability inside of Somalia.

The Republic of India

 

India would, with open arms, accept the free research agreement with the U.K., in the hopes that cooperation between the two countries would lead to a better and safer world. India would also accept a trade agreement with Portugal. The request from Turkey to use India’s ports would be denied.

With the new propaganda waves and outreach programs, Catholics around the world are beginning to feel more connected to the papacy,  less independent and more unified. With higher tithes and more sources of income, the treasury and economy begin to grow more rapidly. The treasury was already substantial in proportion to the size of the country due to the Vatican having very little spending, but it begins to swell rapidly.

ACTIONS

Inspired by the progress of the economy, Pope Sergius sends missionaries to third-world countries, ordering them to establish hospitals and food banks for the needy. Missionaries are sent mostly to the Middle East, namely Syria, Palestine, and Iran. The missionaries work closely with other charitable organizations such as the Red Cross, in the hopes that more people will be inspired by their actions and convert to Catholicism.  ((MOD PLEASE))

The Pope makes a speech on live television declaring his sympathy for the countries and his desire to form ties and bolster Catholic populations in the area. In addition, Pope Sergius sends diplomats to Japan, the UK, and Germany to "Discuss opportunities for mutual growth."
