I have written 2 applications so far and they have both been denied.... last time I had to wait 7 hours-- now I have to wait 24...what is the point in that if all I want to do is play the ******* server.. there are possibly millions of other minecraft servers and thousands around the same type of server as this one... the point I am trying to make is that who the hell in the right mind would spend hours of there time making stupid  unneeded  applications just to get onto 1 shity server... unlike any other server they would welcome you as soon as you join.....of my personal opinion I would call lord of the craft a joke compared to any other server and the reasons for that are simple......you have to apply to play...so lets get this straight how the hell does the server even know if your going to like the game because you haven't played it yet.........why would you ever want to spend an uneeded amount of time on the wiki if you don't know if your going to be accepted into the server.....there are a lot of non         whitelisted servers with the same based idea as this one---- the funny thing that makes me laugh about this server is that it is still running.....I will not be wasting my time anymore writing applications because I have better things to be doing with my free time......thanks for pissing me off lord of the craft

Honestly, this is not the way to go about applying. The proper way would be to pm the staff member who denied your application and ask them what was wrong and what you could improve upon. As an Ex-Application Team member I loved it when I got that pm asking about lore or the definition of powergaming/metagaming. If you'd like I could go back and read through your application and review with you what needs to be fixed. As to why you need to go through the wiki, it is expected that all players coming into the server have a fairly solid grasp on the world's lore in order to provide those around them with good roleplay, nay 'edgy' roleplay. If you do not want to take the time to do so then maybe the server is not the right place for you. My offer still stands because this community is not one that turns away too many people. If you choose to leave I respect that and you may take your attitude elsewhere but If you wish to stay I suggest you untie your nuts and take a breath, look through the wiki and write a solid application.

Sorry you're having trouble getting accepted onto the server.

Looking through your past applications, it appears that your issues aren't tremendous, but they come from your biography being unrealistic/magical/and simply, power-gaming.

Two of those three are big no-nos, while unrealistic is vague as this is a fantasy server.

It clearly states in the rules before you apply that you cannot have anything to do with magic, yet you included a magical tool appearing out of nowhere to help you escape from prison after being starved for a lengthy time.

This breaks the magic rule but also breaks the power-emoting/powergaming rule. The same way a child would be unable to break a piece of wood with their hands, a malnourished and starved individual would have great difficulty breaking out of an iron bar cell. You can argue that the pickaxe is magically light!, however that simply breaks the magic rule.

My best advice to you is to try not to over complicate your application by giving yourself an 'amazing' backstory. While people complain that most backstories are boring and lack uniqueness, the truth is the common backstory is, well, common.

Raiders probably did kill your parents.

You were probably attacked by bandits.

You probably were an orphan.

You probably did leave home for a better life.

Your parents probably did die early on from a sickness.

Your father probably did die in a battle.

All of these things are common, cliche, but probably the most accurate to what would have happened to a person in this fantasy/medieval world of Dark vs Light, Nation vs Nation, Wild Animals, Bandits, Raiders, oh my!

What is in your own hands though, is how your character develops from these common backstories. What urges them forward? What makes them want to change? What do they want to become? To what lengths will they go to achieve this?

These things, are what make an application not only unique, but fun to read. Giving yourself a magical way out, or a shortcut, it takes away from the experience and the journey to completing your characters goal. Let your character struggle, it'll add more to the story.

If you still wish to apply, you can write up a mock biography and send it to me in a PM and I'll look it over before you apply again.

Just don't give up. The end is worth the journey.

You appeal so before you join the server you have the most basic understanding of the lore and the basis of the entire server and to make sure you understand the rules and the main ideas of LoTC. If the whitelist system wasn't a thing, new players will have a much more tough time getting along and understanding the very simple basics of the community, not mentioning rulebreaking.

Don't make a rantpage if you can put that effort if not less in pre-writing your new application

We have the system in place so people know at least a little bit of the uniqueness about our server, so they're not complete idiots that go around, walking up to people to kill them without rp, going to them and type *kills with sword* or are overpowered born mages right from day 1.

This is a hardcore dedicated roleplay experience, which you can only participate in if you fully understand the concept, rules and grasp of things.

Your ranting over being denied twice, for good reasons? I got denied over 8 times to get in over the span of 2 weeks. That did not stop me did it, I got in and i'm still playing for over a year now. Also trust me when I say there are little to no severs that are better than this one in the extreme medieval RP sense. There was only one that I found of good quality and guess what they also had. Applications. We have them to make sure people who are just coming here to not take our community seriously don't get in. Have you seen the wiki, this server is not something to take lightly.https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Special:AllPages

Sorry to see you leave, Yet LoTC has a application system set up so no trolls or immature/young children will log on, make characters, and end up power-gaming and metagaming because they take it as a server with RP like Datpixel. Personally it took me three applications to be accepted, and I have played for nearly a year now- with that said I can say LoTC is one of the best Roleplay servers you could find out there. Good luck though! and if you ever decided to come back the AT will always be there to check and read over your application!

You could've asked someone for help, and the server isn't that shitty, it's pretty good, so don't make a damn rant about it, you broke some rules in your applications, and hell I'll admit that I took about 4-5 applications, so don't make some rant about how you're the victim you just gave up too early, just try again and don't break the power gaming or magic rule!

Being denied twice can take away the motivation you have to continue applying, however I encourage you to keep on trying. You aren't on your own, and people are here to help you. Please, you are more than welcome to message myself, or anyone else with a green 'application moderator' tag.

I wil be locking this thread, as the comments have become a bit rude.
