A fire on the Water

A group of ten formed near the Aureon manor on the thirteenth of The Grand Harvest. They were all there, mostly mourning or comforting those around them at the loss of Lindrael a few elven days prior.

They walked down to where the boat Damai had made was, it’s dark oak knots running along the side, the body covered with dirt, flowers and a sapling sat in the middle. A sapling of an Ame’lie which was placed in the middle.

Damai stood on the bank of the water, clearing his throat. Breathing quite slowly to calm himself from the overwhelming sadness that cursed him. He dug his feet into the said and said, in a quite confident tone.

“We are all gathered here today, to mourn the passing of Lindrael Taliiyh Torena, as most of you know, he was a very opinionated man, and was stubborn. He did whatever he could to achieve what he thought was right. He was a very devout Aspectist, one whom followed the Old ways as I. A brother in arms as a Sirame. He was also the type of guy to uvul'thrur ito Bortu illera’

Artimec, Leo and Nate all nodded at his words, Arahaelth joining the group as Damai spoke, he continued with his speech.

“Lindrael, I promised you that I would bring up your son as a fine Torena Warrior, and that I shall do. I will teach him in our ways. I shall also find the person who killed you. Ame Nae Everah, Lindrael”

With that, he put his hands on the boat. Accompanied by Artimec, Leo and Nate in pushing it out into the ocean. Damai sighed, taking his bow from his back. He’d rub the flint tip, it causing the oiled arrow to set alight. Damai placed the arrow on the string of the compound bow, his fingers would be wrapped around the string, pulling back the arrow he soon let it go, a whistle emitting as it spiralled out, then falling down onto the boat.

The boat lit up, it being covered it oil speeding the process, the flames were bright, the ame’lie sapling sitting in the middle, it being resistant to the fire that grew by the second around it.

The boat drifted off, and so did the people. Until all that were left, were Damai and his thoughts. He sat, thinking about Lindrael

Melgarth Taliiyh Torena would have also attended, aiding in the pushing of his fathers' boat and dropping a few tears upon the grass. He would later be brought to the bar by Faeinn and Mare to drown away his sorrow in a cup of ale, before resting there for a night, still clad in the golden platemail Lindrael used to wear.

"Well..." Seyer makes a small huff. "Didn't expect a bad speech to lead to death... May he rest well, whatever sins and greatness he has done."

Meriel watched the boat burn in silence, turning to leave shortly after. Even if she frankly despised Lindrael, and was glad to see him gone she couldn't deny he had been brave. Even if he tried to get her banished, along with anyone else with non elven blood in their veins.
