The New Overseer

As you may or may not have noticed, the Application Team has undergone a change in Team Lead since the leave of Ski_King. I am now leading this staff team and will be implementing some novelties to be explained at a latter date. The choice of lead was made by the Admins; which conducted a multi-choice vote within the AT, discussed the candidates and took recommendations from the previous lead.

 

New Player Data

The pie chart below (figure a) gives an indication of the most popular races for new players when they first join the server. This is one of the first months where there was at least one applicant for each race on the server. It is also the first month where elves and humans are almost tied with one another.

In figure (b) it can be seen that there is a relatively high success rate of applicants to the server of around 60%, with many being accepted straight away without being put on pending. The pending feature appears to be working quite well as only a small portion of those applications put on pending are eventually denied.

Team Data

As Tahmas did with the modreq totals, and justified similarly, there is no reason that these numbers should be hidden away. For the sake of transparency, the total completed applications per member of the team is displayed in figure (c).

Valmir, DarkSainthood and Proddy were no longer part of the team, but were present at the time of this data collection (hence their count of 0). Jonas left the team nearing the end of the month because of a lack of time to dedicate to the team (hence the lower count). The quota of 15 was certainly difficult to reach this month considering that there was a low amount of applications lodged, and thus we have allowed leeway to all team members.

 

In November, quota will be modulated as a percentage (as with GMs) to allow for a fair distribution of applications, while maintaining a speed of completion.

But now I guess it's safe to say that I stole a decent amount of apps from the other AT members (i was bored like 90% of the time so I review apps to sate my boredom)

Instead of a graph that gives a vague idea of the numbers, perhaps a simple number next to them (especially since the scale is ridiculous and to the decimals), and are your application team managers held to a quota? Further more, what even does a manager of the application team do?

Valid questions.

 

For the first concern, in the future I will actually fix up the scales to not have decimals and be better representative.

 

Information on Manager work will come next month - I'm limited in time right now due to exams... expect a longer AT Update Log next month!
