  1. 1. Should Spawn contain a Tavern?

  2. 2. If Spawn does contain a Tavern, should it be player run?

  3. 3. If Spawn shouldn't have a Tavern, should it have some other form of Roleplay center area? (E.g. bounty center)

If you're gonna have a tavern at spawn, then the entire area should be open to player interaction. Taverns or other limited "RP centers" in an area where players are not allowed to own or affect the land aren't helpful.

A location that can't be actively assaulted, disrupted and influenced removes the purpose of a lot of RP. 

Why is this stuff your current topic of discussion and focus when there are other problems that have been nagged about for a while now? At this point does our input even matter?

When I think of Monk Tavern I look back to the tavern run in Athera by Jistuma and think "Damn. Had some good memories and great roleplay there."

 

So absolutely yes.

The last time we had a no-kill, no threatening RP zone, we literally had more people at the Vailor CT hub then the nations themselves. Why go anywhere else when you're immune to bad things? Its literally invulnerability. We're not saying we need a PVP zone, but making a safe space and protecting people for no reason is bullshit. It's why the Abyss is so annoying.

pretty much I like to filter people towards the main cities to be honest and not have them linger in spawn

To what end? There is no reason any roleplay should be further drained from currently standing towns or settlements. You have spread roleplay thin as is with this multi-world map, you ought to prevent it from thinning even further.

Another server tried this. It turned the spawn into pretty much the only place where stuff happened.

Spawn is spawn. it shouldn't be an RP hub, it takes away from actual cities and their taverns. Valor's docks were just a group of 10 elves sitting in a circle, or armies walking trying to recruit people passing through. 

Save the Rp for the places that were built for RP, not the places that were made as a connection point.
