How will you go about assisting new players?: When I was a new player being able to talk to another member of the community was hugely helpful and @Chamo integrated me very quickly with the dwarven and even took me to the barracks, while they were holding a legion practice. I think a great way to keep new players is to introduce them straight away into the rp and friendly people who can help them. After a new player joins you should give them rp as soon as possible, but I dislike seeing when people camp in cloud temple and snipe players just so they can claim they have a bigger population and an army. While this does introduce them it doesn't give them much rp at all and 9 times out of 10 the player goes completely inactive.

How will you go about assisting new players?:

An aspiration of the Westerlands is to be a place that new and old players alike can come to roleplay without fretting over OOC drama. It's a harsh region at the edge of civilization that is infested with monsters, undead, and God knows what else. As a member of the Lectors, a militant religious sect, I stand as a bulwark against the darkness to keep Axios safe. Far too often new players wonder about the map and never feel like they have a purpose or really fit it- further still, they don't have the OOC connections that lately seem imperative to being part of fun roleplay. I'd like to serve almost like an NPC, and so would many others around the Westerlands. For my part, I would issue quests to new players that has them killing mobs, participating in patrols, or exploring Axios for lost relics. Upon return they would be rewarded with gear, some blessed trinkets, or perhaps even an opportunity to serve in the Lectors themselves. I would also be able to direct them to our tavern, where the owner has expressed a desire to also serve as a quest/informating giving NPC-esq person.

We want to introduce them to the world of LotC through the Westerlands, and send them on quests/adventures throughout the rest of Axios so they can experience other groups and figure out what they want to do on their own.

How will you go about assisting new players?: Same as I always do. Hunt them down, give them some items to get started, explain the basics, point them in the direction they wish to go. Sometimes I'll take new players under my wing, so to speak, and/or recruit them for my own no doubt nefarious schemes.

How will you go about assisting new players?: Aiding new players is rather simple matter in my opinion; you gotta wrangle them into a healthy community. Gotta stick them quick and subtly into a group you know can nurture them into the general community of LOTC. A communication between the whole server and all its communities is key. Hoarding new players and offering them little in the way of exposure or constant acknowledgment as to their existence generally leaves us with what we have; a slowly dwindling faithful player base. Players needs to be put near a generally kind community and then exposed to all the other entities of LOTC. New Players put in as much effort as a Minecraft Roleplaying server is worth, which means very little effort. Which is why spoon feeding of RP at the beginning is generally best; which is why communities which are able to do so are great for new player retention. Yet the spoon feeding needs to be a constant for more than their first day; as it's not uncommon for a player to be totally roped in their first day but then seemingly get the cold shoulder forever afterwards and then they quit.

How will you go about assisting new players?: First thing players might not understand is how the chat system works. There are many commands that are useful, but hard to know if you're not familiar with the plugins. Another thing would be the different kinds of groups, and where to start rp'ing! I'm open to starting up a roleplay with anyone, and seeing if I can help them send off to see what other kinds of people do in their rp. I find it's important to not be scared to talk to people. Oh, another thing, I'm also willing to lose in rp for the sake of rp to provide a good experience.

How will you go about assisting new players?: I am an owner of a guild, have often ascended to leadership roles, owned previous guilds, and in general have a tendency to be a great help to new players. I hated being the new player with nothing to say, I'd be happy to give them a voice and a place in the dwarven community (or any community, for that matter). Simple dialects, general things like shops, vip, races, politcs, stuff like that to get them immersed.

Also, giving them simple tasks, items to complete said task. To give them a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of 'place' in the society. I feel that's key to any engagement.

How will you go about assisting new players?: Firstly I'd introduce them to what we are and our goals. Essentially the Westerlands isn't a place you'd want to live in rply, but oocly it attracts a lot of people due to the fun and interesting rp of living in an inhospitable climate, fighting off the undead.
Next I'd try and find them an initial role where they can fit into our group with the opportunities of meeting most of our active guys. We have a lot to offer, such as hunting, tavern work, church and clergy rp as well as the obvious military roles in our main company.

How will you go about assisting new players?:

Remembering back to when I first joined this server, it was during the map change to Athera and the event had already begun. I had absolutely no help or clue how to roleplay or where to go or what even was going on. People wouldn't let me on their ships either, therefore I got angry and didn't log back onto the server for about 3 weeks. I do not wish to see that happen to new players and I feel like it would be best for player retention if they had someone to teach them how to roleplay and emote properly, show them around, inform them on the various groups and the different cultures so they aren't clueless. In addition, I would teach them about professions and how to acquire things on this server because it can be a confusing system for newer players. Lastly, I would attempt to get them started off and introduce them to others in roleplay so they can get acquainted with other players on the server. Overall I wish to make them feel apart and accepted in our community.

How will you go about assisting new players?:

Usually, when I encounter a new player, I find it useful to help them with the more technical details first; how to emote, not to move/punch other players while they are emoting, etc. Then I explain a bit about the general lore, mainly the one of their race, in hopes of giving them basic knowledge they'll need in roleplay while not giving out too much information. I direct them towards (seemingly) friendly RP hubs, and attempt to warn them not to go directly for complicated spots of RP such as magic, etc; so that they can learn the ropes of the server instead of diving head-first into complex information. I find it very fun.

How will you go about assisting new players?: I've already been contacting most implemented players offering them help and inviting them to come RP in Haelun'or if they're having trouble finding RP, both an offer of recruitment and assistance. I'll gladly help new members get help, primarily with getting acclimated or coming to roleplay in Haelun'or, but also to assist them more broadly as they need it.
