New Player Discord Assistance (NPDA)

Recommended Posts

So, We've made a discord specifically to give to new players upon their entering of LOTC.  However the issue I currently am running into is the lack of helpers.

If you're a new player and would like this discord, I'd love to give it to you!  All you need to do is ask!

However for you vets, I request something from you.  I need 1 person from every race, 1 person from every nation, and 1 person from every large county.

Currently staffed spots:

Westerlands

Courland

High elves

Sutica

Dwarves

We need everyone else!

Please fill out this simple form if you would like to help.

What group are you from: Orcs/Norseth'onn

What can you do to help new players: I'm willing to do more or less anything to help a new player out. Specifically, though, I can show them around the server and help them find their place in the server, trying to see what exactly it is they want to get out of the server. I can also help with further improving their characters and working to make them more distinct if they want.

What can you do to help new players:

I'd be able to help new player get familiarize with the server several ways, whether its with roleplaying mechanics, lore or just getting started on the forums. I'll be willing to answer any lingering questions they have about the server in general. I'll just be someone that can guide them and introduce them to LOTC. On the server, I can show them the cities, how to get to spawn and branch of to other cities and much more. Overall, I'll just be someone they can come to for info or for clarification.

What group are you from: The Jarldom of Mjol

What can you do to help new players: I will teach them to roleplay and assign their skills.  Along with that, I have a large plot for my settlement with plenty of housing to give out for free and no taxation.  I would also provide them with any needed supplies and work in exchange for minas.  Everything I do in roleplay and oocly is ultimately to benefit those around me, and provide them with a place to thrive and prosper.

What group are you from: Haria, AND the Jarldom of Mjol! The more, the merrier, and I might be able to help around when @sullincollivan isn't around necessarily.

What can you do to help new players: I'm pretty knowledgeable in the cultures of the lore, and can help guide a player by showing them what's what. Furthermore, I'm willing to rp with literally anyone, and none of my characters have IC boundaries preventing them from doing so. While I can't give them houses myself, I'm more than willing to show new players the ropes and how to go about acquiring a house in Haria, and direct them to the necessary individuals who can help from there. This seems like a great way for me to make friends, and I jump at that opportunity. There's a legitimate in character reason for my RP being able to be so widespread, as my main persona is an explorer herself.

What group are you from: Orcs/Adherents of Tahariae (Does it count?)

What can you do to help new players: I mean, I suppose I've only been around for just under a year now, but I do know a lot about the Braduk clan history, so I can teach them that I suppose. I'm also more than willing to tell them how to properly roleplay an orc, if they do end up making one, and I suppose I can tell them a little about the Clerics, although that job would probably go better suited for someone with more experience. I've also played a few different races now, in different servers, mind you, but I still have enough knowledge to at least point them in the right direction if they do end up asking me for anything.

((This isn't a staff role I don't think, so I think that I'm good to apply for it.))

MC name: Chorale_

What group are you from: Courland / Human's in-general.

What can you do to help new players?:

  • Give them good RP skills / teach them how to properly emote and avoid power gaming.
  • Quiz them on the rules, to see if they know the major rules, and therefore can abide by them.
  • Set up RP scenarios and have them react, then voiding it later as it's just a "practice RP" run.
  • And, if they've any questions for me then I believe I could answer them, as i'm a 2 year veteran of LotC.
  • I can also teach them how to use Nexus, how to use the crafting system, and the skills plugin as-well.
  • I can give them the run-down of the major event's that've happened within a few months leading up to their acceptance, to make sure that they know what's going on, and who leads what, etc. etc. I.E - The fall of Oren, and the relations between Courland & Haense + the other human kingdoms.

Alright, we're still missing player bases!  Sky once we start accepting people for their magics and such, to explain those to new players I'll add you instantly!  Most people have been accepted.  If you haven't gotten a PM, I'm sorry!
