No. 1

The 4th of the Deep Cold, 1607

After some years having elapsed, I can only lament the ravages and uncivil occurrences from the City of Aleksandria and all that have taken place since their barbaric usurpation for power. I have the misfortune to pen this to all whom it may concern by conveying to those unsung heroes in this life and in the next. The human states, now a conclave of victims of misguided means, governed by insufferable men who rally behind a pompous premier whom God Himself had forsaken and dares style himself as Protector of the Heartlanders and Highlanders and who so illegitimately claims the honorifics of Hanseti and Ruska as if it were afforded to him by Almighty God.

The subject speaks of its own importance, to warn rulers and commoners alike across Axios the dangers of the arrogance of the man who sits in Aleksandria. Among the most formidable of the obstacles to peace and stability for humanity, we find not in armies and weapons, but of the fundamental threat of ideas that plague a generation. The empty promises and the disenfranchisement of this so-called “Kingdom of Courland” have divided humanity more than any other conflict that our fathers and their fathers have fought since the conception of our once holy Empire.
From the heresies and apostasy that the court of Staunton sanctions, to the violence and the lack of regard to honor and peace is what gravely corrupts the minds of man and the children who will once have the misfortune of inheriting a world riddled with this recklessness. I charge anyone who believes in the authority of this madman, for it cannot be done. Proud of their preeminence, I must warn the dangers of this sort and hope for an age in which the Seven Skies opens itself and enlightens the hellish fiends that lurk Axios, seeking the ruin of souls. With magnanimity and grace, I pray for those who long for justice.

IN NOMINE DEI,

His Majesty the King Marius I of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Prince of the Raev, Duke of Akovia, Krajia, Greymarsh and Alban, Margrave of Vanderfell and Adria, Count of Siegrad, Werdenburg, Kavat, Karovia, Torun, Owynswood and Kaunas, Baron of Vsenk and Wyrmwood, Defender of the Faith, Lord of St. Karlsburg, Protector of the Highlanders.

"Did Courland do the same when they lost their first rebellion? Your people were displaced then won, their people were displaced and you expect them to just lay down and die? Have some compassion, these folk lost their homeland much like your own did once upon a time. Though that being said, I don't advocate further violence between humans." remarks Ser Bryce

"Let us not forget just exactly who issued both an ultimatum and a declaration of war. You thought you could best the Kingdom of Courland. You thought you could bully the Kingdom of Courland. You have failed in your attempts and now you try to play it off as if we are deserving of detest and blame?

Pitiable."

Remarks Frederick Staunton-Baden.
