Bryophites

Not sure where to post this so for the time being, it'll be posted here. Anyway...Bryophites.

Bryophites are cool plant-like humanoids that use to be playable. I've read up on their lore and they're interesting and my character could very well be heading in the direction of becoming one, only they're unplayable. I didn't see anything wrong with them and I'm not sure why they were removed from playable-status but if you have a problem with them, let me know down below in the comments, I'm open to change. I'll personally rewrite their lore to fit better. Cheers

Bryophites were shelved due to a number of reasons, and the most persistent ones that keep them shelved are--

1. Poor writing quality
2. Incompatibility/inconsistencies with current lore

They would need almost a complete overhaul, starting from the concept up, to be actively playable again.

When you say concept up, you mean the initial design of 'plant people' isn't bad - though everything else like their origins, 'abilities', etc etc would need rework?

Because I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. I probably wouldn't call them byrophites though, I never really liked the name. Though I'm just curious regardless!

"Plant people" isn't a bad concept at all. I'll just be specific-- The idea that a plant is somehow capable of devouring a body and then claiming and hosting a living soul without it being tainted, corrupted, or warped in any way has been unanimously agreed among the team to be ridiculous.

Given that there are current bryophites who are still played (due to grandfathering in), in my opinion it would probably be best to keep the name the same. In my opinion, anyways.

Dryads =/= bryophites. That being said, there is a rewrite in the works, I've just been focusing on another project first. I think I can tentatively say that we will be able to submit it sometime next weekend, if not sooner depending on the main writer's time.

Dryads are wood elf females only, which is fine but not all people play females. I believe two of them can coexist, although maybe implement a few major differences. I also like how Bryophites are just plants undergoing their basic natural processes.

We should really have just one thread which outlines all the pseudo-Druidic nature creature variants.
