People get super gay about fighting now because if you lose one fight all the time you put into grinding the prot sets, something like 12+ hours for a single prot set not including the time spent mining etc is just completely gone.

Agreed with pretty much everyone on this thread involving nexus PVP.

 

CBs exist because if casus bellis didnt expire over time, every nation would have the permanent ability to wipe every other nation off the map repeatedly given how many wars have been fought in the past, and that is not good for RP at all.

Everything I can relatively agree with.

 

The cases belli system however, with editing, shouldn't be removed. I agree with the degrading aspect. Yet, at the same time, I don't think the goal of the server is to promote historical or realistic accuracy when it comes to nations and war. Instead, diversity in nations and player groups benefits everybody. 

 

The thing with Oren was it wasn't simply "oh lets just all band together to beat em because they bully people" it took a looonnggg time and the whole process was without a shred of RP and ended up being a shiftiest altogether. I'd argue the cases belli system reinforces RP instead of detracting it especially since OOC is the main cause of the majority of wars.

CB's are needed because of the amount of OOC motivation that goes into wars and conflict, and the unrealistic glee which nations take at waging war with each other.
