Just a tiny test.

Would you leave this server if pvp default, pvp-based raids, warclaims, and nexus grinding - anything that isn't text-based roleplay - was removed?

As simple as clicking a button. I'm honestly curious as to what would end up happening with this.

It would kill half the playerbase, so I couldn't support it.

Don't worry, according to the poll it'd just be a quarter.

Even if that happened and a lot of people left, most of them would come back and their leaving would just be a result of temporary outrage. Then we'd get to hear them whine for 3-6 months until the rules get changed again by a different staff team. Oh yeah, and we'd start seeing more old players return.

Conversely, if the entire server was made full PvP, then I suspect 80-90% of the server would leave and our entire backlog of old players would disappear, so LotC would probably last 1-2 months before going down completely unless they decided to say, "**** it," and took off LotC's whitelist.

If PvP'ers didn't like the fact this is a RP server then they'd move to a PvP server that better suits their interests. Everyone here bothered to make an application at one point to join a RP server.

I'm not really sure about that; alot of people are clearly here for pvp, and pvp only. It's clear by their uninterested roleplay, its clear by them walking away when you try to roleplay with them; if clear when you're quite literally afraid to initiate combat with them over a very much so legitimate reason with them because they will pvp you. Those people won't be coming back. I'm not saying its bad, but it is out there.

I genuinely adore the idea of emote-based combat being default, until it reaches a certain point of players involved. Here is a question back to you, how would you say wars should be dealt with? Cause I can tell you now, if half the playerbase cannot handle emotes with eight people involved, none will be able to handle when fifty plus people are involved, just saying. Just remove percentages please, vanilla gear lets go.

Anything roll-based, taking amounts of troops, gears and riches into consideration. Terrain and other things. And I am going to assume that if those wars aren't going to be PvP-oriented, there will be way less in general; mainly because people do them for the sake of pvp, or so I assume.

We are a roleplay server, not an RPG server, the whole 'rolls and troop number, plus gear and riches, equal this much power and ...' is ridiculous and totally not what Lord of the Craft is, and as for the way you are assuming wars are for... It's completely wrong, and filled with ignorance. Warclaims need to have backing, and reason, hence the whole casus belli system. If you are trying to warclaim just to PvP, it's not going to work out at all.

Well, I am a bit oblivious to most of the war system. It mostly looked like everything there is just two minutes of babbling then pvp, I'm probably wrong though. Maybe wars should be pvp, but things like 8-person fights are something that can be easily done when people aren't powergaming, or spamming emotes.
