[!] In many nations, parchment would be placed up on the noticeboards and within the taverns. The hand writing simple and easy to read for all. [!]

To the people of Axios.

I am a simple human writer who has kept silent about himself for a while now, waiting for something big to report. Alas I now step out into the light to share forth information that I have witnessed within the nation known as Veris. Whenever you believe me or not is up to you but this is to bring forth what I have seen within the city.

The nation of Veris is not what it appears, what you see when you walk within the gates is nothing more than a mask to hide away the truth hidden within. What may appear to be a cheerful and neutral community shrouds the true darkness within the city’s walls. I have seen and spoken with all on both sides, I have seen what has happened, and even now it shakes me to my core.

Due to the city’s recent declaration of neutrality, creatures and mages of shadows have swept into the city and made it their home. Those the Veris government deem safe and innocent have been allowed in - both dark mages and undead alike. Now they walk among the residents, their true purposes unknown. Perhaps they are as innocent as we see? Or perhaps they are waiting to claim their next victim to make into a ghoul, or next meal to feast the lifeforce out of. They use the neutrality to their advantage,  play the role of good but reveal and hide their true colours.

Already the signs are clear; many accounts of dark attacks have risen within the past year - a halfling ghoul attacked a woman through shooting her with a bow, armoured beings known as Dreadknights walk beside your children with the blood of those within another region of Axios on their hands. Witches of frost stalking the night, waiting for men to fill their pleasure and their stomachs. Murders and disappearances sweeping over the city like an unstoppable hurricane.

Those of light have fought and protected, yet descendants have ceased the users of light when they attempt to kill the dark that have or will threaten the lives of the residents. Why has a descendant leapt upon an Ascended’s back and threaten to end them for trying to kill a ghoul that has shot a crossbow bolt through an innocent woman’s shoulder. Why has a descendant blocked a cleric from confronting a shade whose unstable state will lead to his shade tendrils lashing out at those near him in bloodlusted rage? Why did a descendant prevent a paladin from roaming the street when their duty is to guard and protect? Why are these residents of Veris so determined to protect the darkness that have caused so much pain to many people, as well as the fall of Aegis, the settlement of Bastion, and so forth? I have seen such with my own eyes and I am horrified that these descendants will rather stop those protecting us rather than realise that the darkness in front of them is clearly going to harm someone.

The High Prince allows the darkness to roam his nation when he previously asked the holy orders to eradicate such from his nation, unaware that masks can be worn and innocents can be pretended. He has even gone as far as to banish the Ascended based on lies and false accusations. Why would the prince go back on his word to them and allow the darkness to enter his nation? Why has he removed one of the three orders that have actually done something against the darkness?

People of Axios, nations and races alike, I ask you to please heed my words and consider my questions. Why has Veris been allowed to grow and prosper while its residents suffer by the hands of the darkness the nation has allowed to enter through its gates? Have we forgotten the crimes the darkness have committed to humanity and all within the past? Is it right for the darkness of Iblees and many other foul demons to dwell near homes and families? Where are the guards who are meant to patrol the streets and protect us all?

Why has the High Prince turned a blind eye to the darkness that keep growing and attacking?

The streets of Veris already run red with crimson blood, yet nothing has been done. Will something be done?

"What's with all these questions? The so called Prince is obviously one of them, there is no question about it. He invites the foul monsters to dwell in that rotten city. And if the aengul people truly wanted to do something about it they would have sieged that city."

Bonnibel remarks upon reading one of said posts, after fleeing from the undead-riddled city.

Shamblebones whistles innocently as the ghoul cleans its halfling-sized crossbow... Halflingly...

Walking past the notice-board within Tal Ardoth's halls, Haila's otherwise undisturbed day would be given quite the wake-up call. Her attention focused upon the most recently posted parchment, Haila's expression slowly transitions from curiosity, to shock, to utter disgust and anger.

"I've never understood the backwards logic of those who rule. If the prince governs in the name of his people, he's doing them a true disservice - though it'd be far more likely that he simply doesn't care, or perhaps even has some ulterior motive for turning a blind eye to the dark beings."

Haila then looks to her fellow Ascended, seeing if they have anything to say.

Queen Susanne de Castro has a maid read the letter aloud. The Queen would let out a shaky breath, clutching a pillow upon her lap as it was read, nodding her head slowly to each word. After it had finished, the Queen would take a slow breath, thinking back to her prior meeting with the High Prince of Veris.

"Zey have my full support. Most defiantly, after vat I had..Vat has.. happened.." She would pause in her words, slowing down, before moving to stand, brushing off her dress "Lets go down to ze kitchen. I've been itching to make muffins, perhaps a muffin basket vill suffice as a danke for ze orders? Ja?"

Sophia Alexandra Markwardt nods her head lightly to Haila, picking off some stained blood upon her outfit

"Personally, I had enough of that city the moment some man tried to fight me for a body of Sif- that frost mother.. And the final nail? Was when one of those spooks in the city tried to hurt my daughter.. She was only 4."

Maaz manages to catch hold of a transcript, the youthful Southeron giving its contents a once-over at an undisclosed location.

"They seem irate," he commented to himself.

The Ascended would be walking through the empty streets of Veris during a dark night, only the stars and the moon illuminates the ground under his feet, he would suddenly stop in front of the tavern next to the square, a colorful parchment would steal his attention, so he would walk that place and read it, as he starts to do it, a little smile would appear on his face "I never read more truth in one parchment, it's clear that something is happening in this place and I won't rest until find out the root of the problem and the dark of this city" The Ascended would turn back and continue his patrol, walking with his right hand resting on the pommel of one his swords.

Haila's face further twists into a scowl, a flash of dark emotion overcoming her in this moment of horrid revelation. "That they would have the gall to hurt even a defenseless child...none of them deserve mercy. And the Verisian government deserves no quarter, for simply allowing this to continue."

"As a resident of Veris, I find this piece of paper to be lacking citations. I walk these streets and find no blood. This piece seems to call to question the 'holy' people with the boons to purge the darkness. It is also very clearly an attempt to invite violence upon Veris and its stance of neutrality for the sake of 'purging' dark beings also known as /citizens/. Quite brutish, inciting violence against a populace in hopes to intrigue Big Brother to do the job for you. Though I must thank you for putting your thoughts into writing, it makes it clearer to me that you are but a Thrall to an Aengul. I will leave you with this, if you do not find the city appealing or its citizens then simply do not go to Veris. Even a hatchling could understand that." responds Y'Golekraj the Voidal Horror in writing!

Kare manages to swipe one of the parchments from a table at the Veris tavern and reads it over. The Halfling letting out an annoyed shout before declaring "Only bad stuff ah seen around here was from them clerics! Saw them cut off the head of another biggun right in the middle of the road. Children can see that shite!"

Elrick patted the halfling's head, trying to ease them from their annoyed shoutings, going to pick her up and move her elsewhere, away from the parchments.
