[!] Tomes and volumes make their way through the world, and should anyone look at these tomes, they would find that the base hard cover has the title ‘A Discovery: Liquid Mana’. If they choose to crack open these books, it would read:

A Discovery: Liquid Mana, part 1

Founded by:

Avenel, creator and visionary of this project.

Siawn, assistant.

Preface:

Mana, the essence of all life, something so potent that it’s strewn across the world itself. Regardless, Mana has never really been a sort of tangible thing for descendants, despite its significance to all life. If mana were to be transformed and molded into a different state, perhaps it could be used more as a utility, something for inventors to use and take control of: thus, the search and discovery of tangible mana began.

On The Discovery:

There was always a question. Can Mana be made into a tangible and liquid form? And could such produce some form of benefit? Mana Gems can provide fuel for enchantments, but could a liquid form be able to be used as fuel for these? Could it be written and imbued with magic as well? These were various thoughts that filled our heads as we aimed to create this wondrous discovery.

Creation:

We first looked at the mana gem. An item that can house power, and once linked with an enchantment, will give it fuel for various functions. Melting it down, we noticed that the liquid held some of its magical properties, albeit fleeting. This proved that a liquid form was possible, for the mana still clinged onto the melted remains for however long. It needed something to hold the mana together,  that free flowing energy. This lead to the conclusion that a magic user must expend their own mana and have it trickle from their form, taking scraps of their aura to coat the mana, this means that it would require nothing besides the mage's mana and its aura to manifest it, no other items required. We noticed something odd, however. The color is undetermined, frankly being what the caster wishes. It could be blue, yellow, red, so on so forward. Though, from what we noticed, it seems to be blue for the most part.

The Liquid Mana, now created, can be used for various functions. We believe that these applications can be expanded on, and there will be further experimentations down the line.

Current Applications:

The substance’s applications cover a variety of magical and somewhat mundane uses. As the concoction is still functional mana, it’s able to fill magical catalysts, typically those that fuel enchantments of varying uses. In addition to fueling enchantments, the substance can also be fused with mundane ink or other methods of writing for enchanting purposes, able to make ink that can be used for enchanting. If a mage were to create a scroll with a rune or writing drawn upon it using the modified method, they would find themselves capable of imbuing the scrawl with their own magical prowess, thus granting the parchment an ability to use a magical spell for a singular use. This is done through channeling one’s aura onto the arcane ink, and sending the information of the spell into it. After all, aura is the smoke to the flame of the spell - thus carrying the knowledge. When this happens, the maker must think of a word that will activate the written spell. As we tested it, when a spell begins to trickle from the scroll, the ink gleams momentarily; when the spell finishes, it seems to burn up to nothingness. Currently, this works for Arcane Spells, though we will be searching for other magic users to see if it works for them.

For what seems to be a little less than a day, we have made some good progress - finding a few uses for the magical liquid.

Final Thoughts:

This liquid mana proves to have great potential. Already, we have found a few uses that are beneficial to others. We hope to next experiment on the states and interactions of liquid mana, perhaps being able to solidify, turn it to gas, powderize, etc; as well as other things regarding its properties and uses. Hopefully, other mages will be able to use and imbue their power into these scrolls.

Siawn sits alone in his study, using the newfound mythical-ink to write document after document and story after story. Perhaps he was obsessed with the possibilities.

As the Artificer finished paging through the stray tome, his expression grew stale. As his gaze shifted across his lab-space and his hands lay flat upon the closed bindings, a coy smile spread along his features. "Good job, Dad."

"Impressive! I've never been one for magic, but this seems like something that will change a lot." A humble smith was excited, despite lacking in any magical prowess of her own.

Irhamir would quietly mumble something, his gaze lifting from the tome to the stars above. "Perhaps."

Ashryn lazily chews upon the tooth pick between her teeth, her feet propped up upon one of the various piles of tomes and novels surrounding her within the library of the Warhawke encampment. Idly thumbing through the pages, she cracks a small smile and nods. "Cool."
