War Server Test Session TODAY

Hi all,

 

As 6.0 approaches, we want to make sure warclaims are smoother and more enjoyable for everyone. We're having the first of a few war server test sessions today, 9/10/2017 at 4 EST. We need as many people as possible to help us stress test the server by participating in a for-fun skirmish warclaim that will last about 30 minutes. Many things have been toned down or outright removed, so the pvp mechanics experienced here will not be exactly parallel to the mechanics on the main server, however most of the core pvp mechanics have been transferred. This is nowhere near a final product.

 

Inventories + Personas

 

For this test session, your inventory WILL be copied and transferred to the war server, however, even if you lose the items while participating (we're turning off inventory drop) , this will have NO effect on the items you had on the main server. Basically we're copying your inventory over to the war server and letting you use your own items in the test warclaim without any risk of you actually losing them on the main LotC server. You also won't bring back items you may have picked up, this test session is purely to see how the server handles a large scale battle, there's no risk in participating. Your persona + racial buffs will also be transferred and be usable in this test warclaim. Horses/pets will not be transferable for this test session, however they will be for the next one.

 

It's very important for us that we get as many people as possible participating if they are able to in order to ensure that future warclaims are better. If you're free at 4 EST, it would be greatly appreciated if you came for at least some of the time. If you have absolutely no gear to use but would still like to participate, you will be given a standard set of gear just for the test session.

You're going to RP on the war server? Why? Stick to the LoTC main server if you want to RP, because the two servers are seperate and should not effect the other.

What if your character has RPly chosen not to participate in the warclaim? And now that the war server is set up, it's not like RPing through a warclaim will cause any problems for the warclaim

if he choses to not fight in a warclaim, he should log out to reduce lag and return later and comment of how he's glad he contributed to reduce game lag during warclaims... this is good rp

This warclaim server litterally came about so that RPers and WCers can do their own thing simultaneously during a warclaim without the whole server going to wack.

 

So you're saying we should ban people who make use of this change to RP during WCs without creating issues for the WCers?

You'll just have to run a command from the main server to get there, will be broadcasted around 4
