The Night of the Falling Leaves

The 13th of Malin's Welcome saw a silent night descend on Atlas, though not on the druid grove. A handful of Dwarves, aided by the Swampgoth and the valiant Radoslav Ratimirovich Radovic, Hetman of the Czevian Hetmanate, Warden of the Baltas, Master of the Ostrogs, Master of the Ostrog, Ivanovyy, and Keeper of the Hetman's Mace, sneaked through the foothills around the wooden palisade, soon before they climbed over the walls and entered the mother grove. The attacking force mirrored the cold nature of their chalk homeland and sweeped through the druid grove in a manner of minutes to slaughter all within. As the druids within realised the approaching doom, they fled to their tallest tree, though had to realise a hole had been smashed into their root-twisted gate.

 

Finding their last refuge breached, the druids sallied forth to take a last-stand against the attackers. They did, however, meet their match in battle. Frostbeards fought side-by-side with Onyxhearts and the single Goldhand dwarf present. In the end, though they lost some of their troops, the raiders emerged victorious and hauled up sacks and sacks of various Druidic items, armours and weapons as their spoils before they left the premises of the grove and returned to the mountains of Kaz'Ulrah. There, they enjoyed a victory feast of ales, beef and bread before dividing the precious loot and elven ears recovered from the mother tree of the druids. 

 

Though the war saw pretty much a stalemate for the past stone days, the 13th of Malin's Welcome surely brought a bad omen to the Dominion and their Druidic allies as both saw their armies defeated by different sides of the anti-elf coalition.
