How to make Criminal Chars last?

Hello! I have recently been trying out playing a criminal character, and from my time as a city guard character, I've figured out that criminals don't usually last very long anywhere. I was wondering if anybody knew any good ways to make criminal characters last and not just be executed the moment you step foot in to a city.

Thanks!

I would say to plan out your moves beforehand. Make sure your character has a goal when you arrive at your destination- whom they are targeting, what crime they're going to commit. Your character could memorize an escape route for if things don't go according to plan. Someone who is afraid of being caught could wear elaborate disguises and/or stay on the down low about their activities.

Think of more creative ways to do villainy RP as apposed to the common banditry is a good step!

Remember that a villain isn't something that only does villainous things. Decide what kind of villain you want to play - do you want to be a common bandit with a shockingly short lifespan? Maybe a corrupt official, or even a normal member of society who has a habit of digging up bodies from the local graveyard for some reason. What it all comes down to is that by establishing your villain as an actual character, they'll survive a lot longer, offer a lot more to rp, and generally be a benefit to the server.

Also trying to make your attire suit the crime will often draw more attention to you. The best villains are the ones that can blend in with a crowd without standing out. Of course if you're doing common banditry a face scarf would be good, but remove it soon after.

Joining a group of fellow villains may ease your endeavor.

I had no intentions of common banditry. I've talked to staff about trying to make a different criminal character than the ones that everyone sees.

Still, no intentions of common banditry. I want to make this character different

The only thing with escapes is that they usually don't go over well in larger cities. You'll usually always get caught by a /roll, get executed, and then that's what I want to try to avoid with this thread.

Already have another friend who I am doing this with.

Limit the amount of crimes your character personally does. Recruit other people to help you, or join them. Find corrupt or corrigible officials and wrap them around your finger. But most importantly, no matter what kind of villain you're playing, think like one. Avoid leaving witnesses. Have some common sense, and a motive. Just playing movie villain tropes goes a long way.

The most important thing is to make a character that happens to be villainous, not a character for the sake of being villainous. There is longevity in a well fleshed-out character, there isn't in a character that only exists to be a villain. Trust me, managed to play the same villainous  character for several years by focusing on the character, rather than the acts they perform.

1- Go on a pvp server and become a pvp god

2- go on the road and bandit everyone you see

3- Call pvp default everyone

This. I also find fleshing a character out from childhood helps with shaping a villain. Wither and Lily are two of my favorites to play, for good reason. As was Elle. Villainy shouldn't be the sole defining feature to a character. There has to be causation for how they are.
