Spoiler

On the 16th  of The Grand Harvest, a date which will live in infamy, the fair lands of Aegrothond were suddenly and deliberately attacked by the armed forces of the Creeper Empire!

Soon, countless souls rallied out from Aegrothond to do battle with these foes, rushing to aid their nation in this time of need! However, such battles would not be easily won, for it was soon discovered that the Creepers had a large number of Spider Mercenaries aiding them! This mixed army proved difficult for the first few defenders, and many were forced to retreat to lick their wounds.

~The brutal battle between the inhabitants of Aegrothond and the Creepers~

While the rest of the Aegrothond military was casually having a picnic right next to the chaos, a few brave souls defended against the Front Flank of the Creeper Army. Explosions rang throughout the day and night as the battle ensued. Eventually, the Creeper forces prevailed, and the brave heroes of Aegrothond were forced to fall back to their secondary line of defense.

In these dark times, Commander Fid rallies the troops with his witty remarks

With such an awe-inspiring speech, the inhabitants of Aegrothond were able to stand their ground against the Creepers for the time being, now joined by the Halfling Anklebiter Division.

~May he rest in peace~

However, such a valiant defense was not without casualties. Many had already fallen to the Creeper explosions, and many more had to die in order to hold back the invaders. The Halfling Anklebiters had trouble finding ankles on the Creepers to bite (Do they even have ankles?), and the gear of the defenders was constantly being whittled down by the endless fighting.

The battle dragged on and on and on, with neither side making any serious ground. In fact, it is likely that the battle is still going on as I write this now! However, if we keep on fighting, I’m sure we will win eventually!

Halflings and Elves of Aegrothond, and all those from abroad who’ve volunteered to help us, do not lose hope! We shall beat back the Creeper Horde!

[!] An ancient looking elf comes sprinting through the area covered in geckos at the news.
As he makes his laps through the area he continues to yell and shout about a great return.
He has returned his servants to the realm! He smiles upon us! Truly we must be home!
All praise his name! All weep before the glory of his beloved children!

I am his beholder! Praised be his children, Praised be Ssssboom!
[!] He continues to make these laps for some hours, geckos occasionally falling from

his form and scurrying to follow him.

Borin Grandaxe would hear of the news and begin to shed some tears for the poor souls. He would then look to Darek Hammerfist and give him a hug.

Thorvn stared at the utter stupidity from across the lake while increasing his collection of salvaged junk from the water-bed, occasionally finding a blue precious gem within.

“Phah, idiots, while they fight with explosives, i’ll get rich on treasure!” The man boasted to himself in some maniacal manner, proceeding to get smacked dead into the water by a live cod.
