THE METINAN RESPONSE

18th of The First Seed, 10SA

The Metinan Company has chosen to show leniency with the Council and Militia of Talon’s Port. The wanton aggression of the recently reformed Militia and the Council of Talon’s Port has shown the true face of the Militia that seeks to hide their own incompetence. Not long ago we came upon a town that was murdering its own citizenry and we have endeavored to prevent further needless violence even if it requires our own troops to save your citizenry from mauling one another. This has been followed by two attacks on our troops when doing business in Talon’s Port. The Militia has opted to use it’s own aggression as a means of justifying our banishment and we refute any and all claims of wrongdoing. The Metinan Company has only ever acted in the defence of both itself and it’s clients who are lawful citizens of Talon’s Port. Due to the lawless acts of the Militia we can no longer protect the citizenry from itself or those outside.

  • In reference to the Talon’s Port Lawbook [TPL] we have opted refute these accusations, although we do protest that the Lawbook is both unfinished and the charges laid against the Company are baseless:
  • Attempt to harm a Council Member [TPL 5.7.5]
    • Any Council Members that may or may not have been harmed has resulted from the aggression of the Talon’s Port Militia. The Metinan Company has not endeavored to harm a Council Member.
  • To cause distress upon the citizens of the city [TPL 2.2.1]
    • The Metinan Company and it’s troops have never intentionally gone out of it’s way to insult the citizens without a citizen first intending to cause distress upon one of our own. All provoked responses have resulted due to the persistent and unwarranted harassment of the Metinan Company.
  • Willingness to break the law for their own clients [TPL 6.1]
    • No formal complaint has been made to the Metinan Company nor proof of a law being broken submitted. The Metinan Company and it’s troops who are legal citizens maintain the right to present it’s cause before the Council.

In an act of undeserved good faith we will permit the Council and Militia of Talon’s Port a Saint’s Day to rectify this situation before we respond in kind. Here lies our demands:

  • 500 Minas in reparation for lost business and property in addition to the threat upon our troops.
  • The Dissolution of the Banishment Act.
  • The Reviewal of the Conduct and Practices of the Militia.

A response is expected by the last day of The Grand Harvest, 10SA ((2/6/2021 11:59PM EST)). No response by then will be assumed as an affirmation of Talon’s Port intent to persist in hostile activities against the Metinan Company.

Athri snickers, throwing the missive into the fire pit, the faint smell of opium still floating around her office from a band of new guests. “By all means, make my day.”

Vivyne Ravexi received the missive from the Metinan Company in shock. The injustice preformed upon that was incredible! They sent letters to their allies and readying to rally the banners should the Company need assistance!

Litten Toldorian rubs his goatee wondering how there where enough to write this response after having slaughtered half of them as they ran from the city.

[!] Jake Grunwalder would read the response with a smirk "Cowards, they hide behind lies... Though! Retaliation was predicted none of the less. I wonder what other idiotic decisions they will make." he laughs

((These are my opinions not the militias ;) ))

Eiji Takai would read the missive with a blank stare, then would carry on with his duties. But Eiji already knew of the message's contents; a plan to amass an army of mercenaries and invade his workplace. He had heard the threats before. They were only empty ones. For, in reality, the man who sent it held no power over him. He can't truly hurt him beyond the worth of what: a few clicks and maybe a smidgen of the superiority from winning a children's game? Eiji knew that it was only a game, and nothing more. There was no purpose to it, other than to cause harm—and if one tries to seek meaning in that, such a condition would only breed toxicity. Eiji would question if causing pain and anguish through his keyboard would cause suffering for the greater good. These questions, he pondered and shied away from, continuing in his duties.

Jorden quietly sits at her desk late at night while her wife sleeps, a single candle is lit, giving enough light for her to read over the missive. "Things keep taking an interesting turn around here one way or another." Spoke the woman with a sigh and a hint of uneasy in her voice, "It's time to gather the brothers!" With this she quietly leaves the room.

"A keyed-board? What sorcery...?" Mansfeld's eye would twitch.

If a dirty peasant could read this man's mind he would know that he has ascended and mantled the position of the Creator, for he knows everything about the creation of a roleplay server and his great brain transcends time and space knowing that this is but a game of a bunch of nerds looking for a good time. The peasant would then fear.. what could one person do with this godly power.

Gail Cordius reads the missive with a sigh, staring out over the surrounding jungle of Talon's Port before turning to prepare his armor and weaponry-- so much for spending his last years in peace.

Alicjo Verrana read over the missive while he sat upon the loo, a sigh escaping the man. It was then that he crumpled the missive, using it to wipe upward.

A certain group all seem to respond in unison. Watching over from their respective afterlives. Two Mali', Two Kharajyr, and the third a human. They all speak the same words:

"This will be fun to watch. Let's see how they'll do without me."

Eiji Takai simply knows that one can just leave this behind and head to greater aspects of life. In his amnesiac fugue state, he would merely see this reality as nothing more than a fragment of what constitutes his persona—his identity. He was not a god, just a mere amnesiac human being but still he could see the inane nature of this dispute.

Conflicts arise and resolve in a continuous cycle throughout time and time again. Truly, this is nothing special and has arisen from whatever miscommunication and misunderstanding that has often plagued mankind. Perhaps, one day people will be able to see without their self-image infringing upon their decisions. Could we one day attain true enlightenment and understanding of our fellow man, elf, dwarf, orc, goblin, or any other sentient being? The future is as we know: unknown, uncertain—until it happens. To admit fault, to understand one's wrongdoing is to grow from that failure and to know one's own limits.
