MotherLay 815 Share Posted April 28, 2021 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally at Rest. Adryana at the age of twenty-five. -------------------------------------------------------------- The days passed slowly in the later years of Adryana’s life, dragging on day by day, second by second. With her children grown, and doing their own things in the vast world, Adryana felt nothing but alone. Never before had she felt such a way, even in the decades she spent cooped up in her home in Oren. She had her children there, pets, her husband. Now, she governesses occasionally for a family within the nation she was so disconnected from. She did not have the chance to find that excitement her parents always tried to rope her into. The magic, druidism, the works. She was old and greying, awaiting the day where she could be free of the world and ascend into the Seven Skies. She wished to be with her love again, the one who kept her going all these years. She wanted it all to be over. Though, when visiting her children a few times a year, she kept that joyful smile on her lips, bringing baked goods and cooing to her little grandchildren. She did it for them, she kept up a façade for them. -------------------------------------------------------------- Adryana at the age of seventeen. -------------------------------------------------------------- Despite the ups and downs of her ohana, she loved them all dearly. She loved her Makuahine, her Papej, her brothers, and even the siblings she hadn’t had a chance to meet. She had never stopped, even in the hard times, even when she felt so unbelievably angry towards her Makuahine, that love she had for them all never ceased. Her children were her pride and joy, every single one of them, even though she had too too many. Caspian, her eldest, made her so proud, and she loved watching his fascination with boats and sailing grow as he aged. Cassandra was just beautiful in every way, all that Adryana wished her to be. She was independent, strong-willed, and had a gorgeous soul. Caius was always a handful- but Adryana never seemed to mind. She loved his spirit, his confidence. Not to mention- she loved that he was gifted with her unmanageable hair. Casper made her proud each and every time he’d come to her with the news of a promotion. She loved his dedication, and the hard work he put into his career each and every day. Cajsa, or as she is known now, Kala, amazed Adryana in every way. Her gift for writing brought tears to her eyes every time she read one of her works. Even though her Baba was so hard on her for her decisions, Adryana embraced it, glad to see that her little Pepper had grown so much. Carwyn made her laugh with all his teenage moodiness, and snippy attitude. She found his annoyance so entertaining, seeing as he seemed to be embarrassed over every little thing he did with the family. She saw her husband’s stubbornness through him, and always seemed to be amazed at how two people could be so similar. Cala, her youngest, the one who kept her motivated to keep moving after Basil’s death. Oh how she loved her. The circumstances of her birth were less than customary, as she was born on the boat taking them away from their old home of Arcas. Adryana loved her playfulness, and saw so much of herself in the now woman. Then, there was her love, her soulmate, her husband. Despite his busy schedule, and absence, she remained devoted to him, completely and utterly. She reflected on their youth together frequently after he passed, laughing and crying at the special memories they had shared. How a two-person Broken-Hearts-Club could lead to a bonded Mended-Hearts-Club. She was so proud of his accomplishments, cheering with him as he made his way up in the harsh political field. He never failed to impress her. She could never wrap her head around how he managed to do so much work in so little time. She smiles at the memories of her idly painting at one end of the table, as he swiftly wrote essays on the other end, and how he’d reserve days just to spend with her amidst his never ending stack of paperwork. She cries at the moments where she wished she could have changed what she said, or how she wishes those pesky little arguments wouldn’t have happened. She nearly basks in the regret of ever having those bad times, wishing she had only spent good ones with him. She was so ready to move on to the next life, purely for the fact that she knew he was on the other side, waiting for her, with no paperwork, no work to do. She wanted an eternity to just be with him. -------------------------------------------------------------- Adryana at the age of eight. -------------------------------------------------------------- It was a cold, breezy night in Greyspine, the wind pushing against the walls of the keep, creating loud swooshing noises through the gated window of her bedroom. Despite this, Adryana slept soundly, cuddled up with one of the deflating pillows on her bed. Nearing the age of seventy-three, Adryana was still going. She was not immobile, not useless. She still spent her days baking, moving about the keep rapidly, doing all she could to keep herself busy. She was quite healthy even, eating the nutritious things, rather than what she baked, as she always had. Despite this, despite her well-off physical condition at her age, Godan’s plan would not have her live another day past the cold and breezy night she’d come across. Death took her soul peacefully in the night, guiding her to the gates of the Seven Skies, as most Cannonists would believe. There seemed to be no resistance to her inevitable passing, her body laid peacefully on the bed she had slept on for nearly a decade now. She was finally at peace. -------------------------------------------------------------- The Baelius Household circa. 1796 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RIP Adryana Vairea Baelius 1755-1817 ----------------------------------------------- Family art is by hudsun202 Persona Art by MimosaMoi Other art is from Google, thanks Google

kal 170 Share Posted April 28, 2021 Spoiler A familiar woman with an Auvergnian accent waves to Adryana as the other woman enters the Seven Skies, "It's good to see you again, Adryana." Cecile Baelius has a somewhat sad smile, "I wish you could 'ave met my boys."
Zaerie 3570 Share Posted April 28, 2021 Queen Viktoria of Metterden would smile at her daughter figure and friend as she entered the skies. "You went so far, Adry. I am so proud of you." She'd embrace her if allowed, and then attempt to show her all of her favorite places and views in the skies.
Viggen92 325 Share Posted April 28, 2021 Casper Jahan Baelius dropped down to his knees before the altar of Ex. Godfrey's Cathedral. The sun reached his face from the windows, and the tears that rolled down his cheeks reflected its rays. The solemn words of the Chaplain echoed throughout the hall "O mother, may you find rest with baba in the Seven Skies. I wish we could have seen each other one last time before you passed -- to say farewell. But I shan't weep for lost opportunities, for that lies in the past. I will instead honour your memory, now and forever, keeping you close at heart."

GMRO 5329 Share Posted April 28, 2021 Boris var Ruthern offered a sad smile as his first friend, Adryana, entered the skies. Whilst the pair had been separated towards the end of their lives, he yet still remembered the good times shared from when they were young. The adventures and support that the two had always offered to one another was easily remembered and cherished. "It is about time she took a rest."
RaindropsKeepFalling 885 Share Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) "WITH MY MAKUAHINE" Time: how awful it was. She grew tense when there was too much, and a panicked escapist otherwise. Like a child, but the estranged Baelius was not one rather, delving into her thirties. Steadfast tears streaked the aging woman's face. She recalled her makuahine well; she recalled her idealist demeanor she'd passed on; she recalled her steadfast support. Mostly, she recalled the times of yore, before the schism by her selfish, selfish dreams of flight. 'Till the quiet twilight, at a quiet shore, apart from the rolling waves of life and death, the home and the hunt, cyclical and balanced, nevertheless melancholy. There was no closure, but endlessly unanswered ponderings. Cajsa, or Kaia, lay beside a pale man she loved, within a place she did not know, a place she did not love; all she could yearn for was home. All she could do was befall to a restless slumber, as grief and anxiety tore her very being wide open as she slammed the door shut from the trees bristle, and the bright sun. »»————- * ————-«« It had been years. "Ah, Cajsa, you look very nice in yellow!" She hadn't said much. She was young. If only, if only, coulda-woulda-shoulda. She'd scream out: I'm sorry, I love you! She'd embrace her, tossing the pretenses out into the fields she scarcely cared for, and could not see. She'd reminisce. She'd smile. She'd laugh. "Thank you," she said. »»————- * ————-«« She had naught to say, only a "goodnight" in the deep hours of a starry sky, and "morning," in the early morn. Never closure, but a counterfeit so-called emulation, never contentment. It was time to change, overdue. It was time for peace, much like her dear mother's rest. (@Jake!) Spoiler To think that I almost said no to playing Cajsa. Crazy. Thank you for everything, and playing the best mom <3 Edited May 2, 2021 by RaindropsKeepFalling
Carson 984 Share Posted April 28, 2021 A woman in a far off land, tanned in complexion, was not made aware of the news for a while yet. Her lips pursed as she held the missive, a tear streaking down her cheek as she stared at its words. She knew she was estranged -- she knew she didn't agree with the woman's life choices, but ultimately as long as Adryana was happy, it was enough. But it was a life the selfish woman wanted no part in. "I am sorry for everything," she murmured, folding the paper and pressing it to her chest. "But I thank you for Kaia."
Coolcod77 586 Share Posted April 28, 2021 "Rest well, Adry." An aged Barclay would comment as he sat beside the largest hearth in Reinmar. "It's truly a shame that we couldn't talk more, perhaps we will speak again one day." He spoke, taking a moment to ponder over his own words.
Bones 153 Share Posted April 29, 2021 Seated in a land far off, word finally reaches the now aged Haeseni man. The notice offered to him by the courier was scanned over with an eager gaze-- it had been an age, or at least it felt like it, since he had heard from his firstborn. Though this was not a letter he had been hoping for, nor indeed expected. With a heart so heavy it felled the man back into the seat of his study, the missive held betwixt a crushing grasp-- his cerulean gaze glossed over and then turned out over a small bay. His chest rose up and down as finally, the barriers to his sorrow broke back to deliver a torrent of tears down his pale cheeks. "Rest well, little dove. . . You are free now."
zuziee 3252 Share Posted April 29, 2021 Safiye Stateira stood solemnly in the seven skies next to Mary Lucille, waiting for Adryana. "Eiso sister." she'd state calmly.
