This report has been written to document the circumstances regarding the schism formed by both Oren and Savoy and the subsequent assassination attempt and rescue of his Holiness, High Pontiff Everard IV

To be placed upon the desks of Lord Marshall Johann Barclay, the Royal Duma and his Majesty, Koeng Sigismund III.

It has been a rather eventful day today, we started off with training on how to repel raids successful from Karosgrad and then with the gathered troope we set out to the Karosgrad and Mordskov mines to retrieve ores for the armoury, all without incident. It was a party of around twenty men and women, the royal children accompanying us also. After mining the ores from these two mines the Lord Marshal instructed us to ride to the mine of San Luciano and had a premonition of the coronation happening in the city. After we mined the ores of the San Luciano mine we decided to pay a brief visit to the coronation of the new savoyard prince, to pay our respects.

We were in the hall for about five saints minutes before the coronation began, and then suddenly the decrepit and senile bishop, Christoff, barged in and stood before the dias and proclaimed that his Holiness, High Pontiff Everard VI as an imposter. The room fell silent before the Savoyard Prince, who had requested Everard to coronate him, declared his fealty to Christoff and declared that Everard was to be dethroned. This was followed by the newly crowned emperor making the same statement, citing some fantasy plot that was so far from reality.

These men were evidently suffering from some form of mental break, they began frothing at the mouth like deceased dogs, wailing and screeching from their lungs on how Everard was an imposter. Perhaps some of the poorly crafted boby pins in their ladies hair had snapped and flew into their brains, who can tell. Sensing imminent danger to those present I escorted the three royal children back to Karosgrad for safety in which we prepared the city to receive His Holiness. Whilst this was happening, back in San Luciano the Lord Marshall ordered our men to create a shield wall and marched onto the dias whilst the Orenians and Savoyards were prancing around the courtroom, frothing at the mouth, flaying their limbs wildly and shouting their many truthless proclamations. Clearly they had not anticipated our arrival at this treacherous event. The men made it to the dias and created a wall around the Pontiff and escorted him safely out of one side hallways to the courtroom. The Orenians, in a frenzy of emotion, ecstasy and glee at their seemingly flawless plan to replace the Pontiff with their puppet, did not notice Everard being escorted out of the hall until it was too late. When the snakes had eventually stopped rattling their tails and foaming at the mouth, they looked at each other perplexed ‘Wheres Everard?!’ they cried out.

The Pontiff now rests somewhere safe, resting from the stress of the ordeal, having nearly fallen into a pit of vipers. Truly God sent us to San Luciano for a reason, and that was to save his Vicar, High Pontiff Everard VI
