Castelul Woldzmir in the morning’s light.

The following is a public letter addressed to the Imperial Throne and the citizenry of the Empire

It is this morning that House Tuvyic announces, with both dismay and distress, that the gates to Woldzmir shall be closed from outsiders.  Members of the family are warned to stay within the confines of the Kremlin or travel outside with caution, and to avoid Providence.

Within the past few days, House Tuvyic has been informed of words spoken by His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Philip III, that express his lack of care for the safety of the Matriarch and her kin.  His opinion had been shared openly in the throneroom of Aster Hall, after the capture of the Grand King of Urguan.

It is due to the misfortunate opinion the Crown bears for the Dower-Duchess of Adria, Princess Charlotte of Aldersberg and her connection to the family of Tuvyic.  Despite the expressed intent of Princess Charlotte having tried to seek peace with the dwarves of Urguan, words have fallen upon deaf ears and her actions regarded with stigma - which bleeds onto her direct relations.

Upon receiving this news, the Baroness and her husband were both deeply disquieted to hear of His Majesty’s display of temper and his regard to a member of the Peerage.  House Tuvyic has remained loyal to the Crown, despite the many rash decisions and mistakes made within the government in the past year; advice and aid has been offered to the Throne within these troubling times, for the care of stability and safety for the People of the Empire.  We have even cared for and raised Princess Julia Amadea Furnestock as a beloved ward during Their Majesty’s absence from the Empire, as if she were one of our own kin.  Despite all of this, we feel disrespected and disregarded.

And now, in an unfortunate addition to our concerns, information is now being spread of a supposed plot staged by the new Emperor and Empress to murder the Duke of Adria in order to take the throne.  House Tuvyic does not cling to these accusations as pure fact and truth, but we shall not disregard them so easily as forged documents either.  We may be more inclined to the latter, had it not been for the continuous displays of rashness from the Crown since their ascension.

You’ve made countless assurances to the people of how you’ve come to liberate us from tyrants, but as every day passes, these words bear less and less strength.  And we grow more and more uncertain and filled with doubt.

To those that would accuse our House of being disloyal to the Crown, allow for us to tell you the difference between true loyalty and blind loyalty and the danger that lurks in the latter.  True Loyalty is bearing respect and possessing honor when serving those above you; rather than feeding impulsive and destructive ideas into your ruler’s mind, you would provide the best advice that you can muster.  Not all advice given to the Crown should be flattery and love, otherwise us Peers become bootlickers.

Blind loyalty is thoughtless, it is dangerous.  You are blind to risks and dangerous factors and you are at risk of feeding into sin and encouraging it.  Faults made by the Crown count as faults made by yourself, if you remain blindly loyal and curse anyone who would not follow in your steps.  Blind loyalty will destroy this Empire.  Be not afraid to speak your concerns and offer your wisdom to our leaders; it is through this communication that we can escape this turmoil and save ourselves from collapse.

House Tuvyic remains with the Empire and makes no declaration of enemies for this grievance.  We are not ones for impulsive decisions and thoughtless words.  Until we can be formally assured of the Crown’s integrity and respect to our name, Woldzmir’s gates remain closed.

Her Ladyship, Anna “Moliana” Elizaveta Tuvyic, Baroness of Woldzmir

His Lordship, Elimar Tuvyic, Baron-Consort of Woldzmir

The Dowager-Duchess of Adria mulled over the events of the past saint's day with a mixture of worry, ire, and righteousness. She was unsure which prevailed over the other two, but it made her feel a certain emptiness. Only her two children could help her through the difficulties to come, for she knew her path only lead down a more harrowing road.

Josephine Aleksandra rose with the birds, making her way through the narrow, winding staircases of the Kremlin to the main courtyard. Dawn light filtered in through the lowered portcullis, casting long shadows across the stone. Those latticed shadows were a rare sight, and they brought a sickness to Josephine's stomach.

She lay a square of cross-stitch at the shrine of St. Judith of Czena, casting a silent prayer heavenwards for the wayward women of the Empire.

An Illatian glowers upon catching wind of the aforementioned letter, dismayed at how this was to affect his potential tenure as the representative of the nearby land once more within the Imperial Diet. He then opts to pen a response in swift fashion, to offer his thoughts.

To the Baroness and Baron-Consort Woldzmir,

Saluti,

I hope this letter finds you both in good health at the time of this correspondance. As I understand in recent months there has been quite the upheaval in the world of men.

I'm writing firstly to express my sorrow at hearing your concerns of the operations within this new age of the empire. I do agree with your sentiment upon the nature of loyalty and I understand that some clarity would be best suited in recent days, and I truly hope you can receive it. One's power cannot thrive while there is disillusionment.

However, this brings me to what next I'd wish to discuss- I cannot, nay- dare not speak for the crown, but I can offer a voice of reason, and perhaps a listening ear to discuss your concerns if time permits.

I've served as a representative for Dobrov and the lands around Woldzmir for almost a decade now, only recently halted by the dissolution of the last Imperial Diet. This said, your lands and culture are very dear to me- and if you'd do the courtesy to open your gates to myself- I think discussion would, or should be welcomed in this uncertain time. Please consider this proposal.

I eagerly await your response, and bid yourselves and Princess Charlotte of Aldersberg all the best.

From within the confines of the Kremlin, a one year old Sorina Lorelei Tuvyic would waddle about, dark curls bouncing along her shoulders as she babbled an unknown tune which echoes through the halls of the keep. The child would be oblivious to the world around her, the bliss of ignorance.

So a creature , with a cold heart watched on. It’s cold hands were hefted upward, and it begun to clap. Clap. Clap.

A courier arrives at the Barony of Woldzmir, after it having been some time since the letter had been published to the public eye. With this courier he brings a letter that is enclosed with the seal of the Empress.

TO THE HONORABLE LADY ANNA ELIZAVETA TUVYIC, BARONESS OF WOLDZMIR,

The Crown has always bared respect to the name of the House of Carrion-Tuvyic, as a leal vassal to the Holy Orenian Empire. Thus, I wish to make it clear in my own personal statement that no ill will, or harm, shall befall any member of the House of Carrion-Tuvyic or its guests within the confines of Orenian Law. Within this includes your current resident, Princess Charlotte Augusta of Aldersberg. It is my hope that my relative would not betray her own kin with the Dwarves, and for whatever reasons she had whilst being in the private audience of the Grand King Ulfric Frostbeard it shall not be held against her so long as it was not in violation of the law.

In regards to your request for the body of Prince Philip Aurelian, my husband asks that you come to the imperial palace to further discuss such matters. As of now, he is at rest with his ancestors and family in the imperial crypts, and his body is laid to rest next to his wife Amadea of Pompourelia. You are more than welcome, if not encouraged, to visit the crypts alongside Princess Charlotte. I hope that I may one day be able to visit Woldzmir too with my children, so I may see my daughter Julia and they their sister. I miss her, as it has been nearly a year since I have seen her last.

You are correct, Baroness Woldzmir, that you should never be blindly loyal. I shall pray that, should the day come, my husband and I may receive honest advice from you as a peer of the empire.

SIGNED,

HER IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Anastasya of Kositz, Empress consort of the Holy Orenian Empire, Duchess consort of Furnestock
