seannie 6861 Popular Post Share Posted December 20, 2021 KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM EA BYK ZWE ZANYOTSKER ZWEER EA TER PETRAVEZKER ZWEM UNEIN FITSKZ Privej to all my compatriots, both on the war and home fronts, The Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska finds itself embroiled in yet another continental war, this time, against the Empire of Oren, our once traditional ally and overlord - albeit under strenuous circumstances during those times. Conflicts of these scales are never a simple affair that can be so easily categorized morally, families will be torn apart by allegiances, and many will derive their hostilities from the notion of inherent superiority, allowing them to slander and slaughter their fellow Man with impunity. At the current rate, the devastation brought upon uswill be of a tremendous scale unlike seen since the War of the Two Emperors - dark days ahead, in which Humanity will only serve to lose if the Kingdom of Haense does not act. However, this war is also borne of necessity, a necessity that warrants the unfortunate death of many, for just as a gardener would trim the rot from his plants, so too must the Realms of Canondom, and her allies, trim the Empire of its rot, and ensure the continued and prosperous survival of our peoples. This blight, the Rulers of Oren, has proven itself to be Almaris’ most consequential and destabilizing force of governance. Plagued by the intrigues of palace assassinations, and wanton usurpation, Philip III of Novellen, has attempted to the dictation of blind unity, riding on a wave of popularity that saw him enthroned - as if indirectly demanding the vassalization of all Humanity once more. His first fault. The Kingdom of Haense does not take kindly to these attempts. Our ancestors fought tenaciously for our continued independence, eventually released of our obligations by Empress Anne, for our continued resistance proved too much to bear for the Institutions of Oren. In his attempts to propagate the notion of total unity, Philip has galvanized what could have been his most powerful ally in the human realms, his Empire now left alone as the world bears down upon it - resorting to the purchasing of petty bandits to further his goals. Haense shall not be so easily cowed by these belligerent imperialist aspirations. However, it is not only Philip’s excited words, but also a plethora of actions that have proved his alienation - for knowledge has arisen that his family, and maybe even himself, were either complicit, or directly responsible for in the assassination of the late Prince Imperial of the Orenian Empire, the would-be Emperor - his own father. Whatever excuse they present in attempts to mitigate these claims are met with no acceptance, for even the High Pontiff of the Church of Canon has made his judgment on this matter, excommunicating the Emperor, his wife, the Empress, and the Prince of Savoy. It is now our duty, in accordance with the Poenitentia Incompleta, to see them removed should they refuse the Will of the Church. And so, with our intention to depose the ruling hierarchy of Oren, our crusade has been blessed by the High Pontiff - the Fear and Love of God shall be reinstilled in the hearts of these lost sheep. In another bout of insanity, Philip also plotted for the establishment of the Michaelite Schism, an attempted religious divide that faced such intense scrutiny that it lasted but a few days after it was declared in the Palace of Savoy - what sort of Emperor schemes so blatantly against God, his Vicar, and his Church? His unapologetic lust for power clouds his mind. If it were not for the presence of Jurgen Barclay, myself, and of the Haeseni as a whole at the coronation, would the High Pontiff still be with us on this plane of existence? For these actions, the Emperor supposedly did his penance, but it was later discovered that he was but a snake lying in the grass, as aforementioned, it was revealed that he had his part in the assassination of his father. As Fidei Defensor, Haense must put this twice excommunicated Emperor to rest if he does not do so himself. “Though a thief may find refuge and the blasphemer speak softly, the Lord’s eye is cast over all sin. To reject Him in private is the truest rejection, the lasting condemnation.” (Spirit 2:14-15) With the assertion of Philip to the Imperial Throne, we have seen his rabid interactions in which he attacks all he wrongfully perceives to be a threat, as if he were a mangy dog one could find in the slums of Providence. His first act of diplomacy from the throne was to recommence the war the Grand Kingdom of Urguan had just concluded upon the death of the late Emperor - a war in which the Urguanite saw no need to continue, but were instead dragged back into it. It could be believed this was to solidify his reign, as his ascension was under tenuous circumstances or perhaps to recoup some ‘lost prestige’, however, he played his cards without even first consulting the greater impact his offensive actions may have upon Almaris. I hope this is to be his last fault, for the Realms of Almaris now converge on him, to depose an Emperor that has brought so much chaos in such a short time. And so, with all these culminating, the Kingdom of Haense finds itself at war with the forces of Oren. We fight for our continued independence in the face of Imperialist Expansionism, we fight for the Church in opposition to a Godless Emperor, we fight for allies aggressed upon wantonly. As my friend, the Lord Palatine, would write in his Chancellor’s Report, “Not only have our allies been aggressed upon by the Emperor, but it is also our duty as the Fidei Defensor to heed the call of the High Pontiff. We were left with no choice but to act.” The Emperor has played his hand, it is our part now to see its end - we must sever this limb so that he may never curse our lands with his chaos once more. I only hope that Humanity in its entirety will prevail through these trying times. I wish you all good fortune in the wars to come, Firr Maxim of the Attenlund, Royal Alderman PROTECT THIS REALM OF OURS

Ibn Khaldun 7729 Share Posted December 20, 2021 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅗𝅥𝅘𝅥𝅯𝅘𝅥𝅮 Gaisorix hal'Daelduron entered the inn at Karosgrad with a parchment detailing the new contract between the Daelish and Haense tucked beneath his flaxen tunic. The new turn of events made travelling through the Attenlund possible and he felt the adventurous urge to visit a land only known from past conversations. He passed through the entranceway, looking around and studying the multitude of tables and the throngs of people sitting around them. Some gave him a dismissive glance as if to indicate they had no room for him and some offered empty chairs and warm words; he decided to fall in with a crowd discussing the recent remarks from their Alderman. Everyone exchanged greetings, Gaisorix learning of their allegiance to Haense and they learning of his background as one of many mercenaries under contract by the kingdom, Gaisorix continued to listen to their conversations ruminating on the causality and reasons for the current war. Context, to the Cinged, helped explain the motivations of the primary actor of this war.

Cjmate 1252 Share Posted December 20, 2021 "If it is the position of Haense to ally with the likes of the Ferrymen, who rob, pillage, murder and torture both combatants and civilians alike then Haense is evil. If Haense truly cared about moral virtue or values, they would not work with bandits." Kristofer scoffs. "I do not fault Haense for allying with the Ferrymen: they don't have the men to wage war on Oren alone; however, if Haense is going to ally with the likes of murderous bandits, they can't also claim moral high ground. If Haense were truly virtuous, and chosen as God's defenders, they would only align themselves with noble souls. Haense relies on forced logic while ignoring their own hypocrisy." "There are many men in Oren who believed Haense's retorts to be just, including myself when my family continued to back the rightful High Pontiff, but Haense's blatant banditry have driven Oreners, who once may have sided with Haense, to stand united against it."

Salvo 1831 Share Posted December 20, 2021 A Savoyard man schemes in secret with the Alderman, both hunched over a table. The true plan, the real reason for the war, would bear fruit soon. They would obtain depictions of Philip III's feet. @seannie
