winterblood 11181 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Spoiler A rider overlooking the Dobrovian woodlands [Source: Symbaroum] The following is a public letter addressed to Philip and Anastasia Furnestock House Tuvyic is pleased to finally receive a response in regards to Woldzmir’s lockdown; however, we remain unconvinced and unassured of the intentions of those that sit on the Throne now. The only assurances you’ve offered to us have been through mere words, words which have lost any strength and meaning through the actions of your reign. In addition to this dubious promise you’ve made, you’ve invited both myself and my mother to the capital despite how vocal we’ve been about our concerns of safety. We cannot accept this and open our gates with confidence. Nor shall House Tuvyic fight in the name of Philip III and Anastasia Furnestock. House Tuvyic remains with the Empire, but shall not fight for those that have damned the nation to a decade of turmoil with thoughtless actions and selfish intent. It is our belief that you’ve returned to the Empire to conquer, rather than liberate and save the people. How have you saved the people now when you’ve brought all of Canondom against you, amongst another great nation? When you refuse to bring an end to this war by stepping down from your seat of power, and instead use the people of your nation as fodder in raids, skirmishes, and battles? When your people are left in uncertainty for the future of their homes and families? No blame is to be placed upon any other than yourselves, yet will this be acknowledged? When I had expressed my concerns vocally to the Crown during your first held Imperial Court [in regards to how the Empire and Savoy had nearly killed and forcefully dethroned the Pontiff], Philip had placed the blame entirely on the Savoyards for having tempt him into committing such rash actions. I warned how I would keep a careful watch over the next steps made by the Crown, as would all of the world. I’ve seen no change in behavior, save for our the slow realization of the facade that has been presented over those that keep to the Throne now. House Tuvyic has remained patient for as long as we could, we’ve given dozens of chances, and offered advice to avoid this war to better reunite the people of this Empire. Yet time and time again, we’ve been left disappointed. One final piece of advice shall be offered, given Anastasia’s request in her letter. Abdicate. Save your people from this war. Put aside your pride and give up the fleeting power in your name. You know the true reason why this war pushes on; it is you. Not your people. For those who remain, for those who are lost and uncertain, for those who doubt the integrity of the Excommunicated and wish for safety. . . The town of Dobrov welcomes any who would wish to flee those cursed in Anathema and seek solace from the bloodshed of the efforts to dethrone them. You needn’t sacrifice your lives for the follies of another. Her Ladyship, Anna “Moliana” Elizaveta Tuvyic, Baroness of Woldzmir His Lordship, Elimar Tuvyic, Baron-Consort of Woldzmir

MCVDK 2830 Share Posted December 20, 2021 “Traitors after all,” murmured the Count of Susa as his head shook ever-so slightly, the late night halls of Susa echoed with each of his footsteps, “I recall the days where I was the steward of Dobrov. It seems a lot has changed since the last visit of mine.”

Franczhiz 4437 Share Posted December 20, 2021 30 minutes ago, Eryane said: Empress Anastasya sips her wine from her office after the courier leaves. Joseph Clement de Sarkozy placed a bottle of Carrion Black on the office of Anastasya "This is the true medication to flush those words away as you read them, auntie. Wine does not help!" He then walked outside to voice his own opinion on the missive, his eyes widening. "Well - that is a f-cking surprise! Now I can not go to Dobrov anymore, I think. I do want to taste Carrion Black from Dobrov....." Spoiler
Toffee 2843 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Josephine Aleksandra sat by the fireside, finalising her embroidery on the lapel of a well-worn coat. War would come to the Empire, but Dobrov would remain safe, an oasis on the outskirts of madness and hostility. She ran her thumb over the raised pattern. A compulsive tic, a way to soothe herself. While she would always be Imperial, and Dobrov was a part of the Empire, it was time to return to her cultural roots. Now, to find a thimble... littyfam 790 Share Posted December 20, 2021 Jordan Cardinal Jorenus happened upon a copy of the missive, a slight smile embracing his gaunt, sunken features. How wonderful it was, to know that Molia had such strong convictions - good convictions. He would surely remember her still, as he had remembered her for most of his life.
