ON THE POLITICIZATION OF THE PAPAL CROWN:

 

"So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall not blaspheme My Word, nor any thing that is holy.” (Gospel 1:8)

 

A great phantom hovers over the realms of man at current, one wholly manufactured and directed by Yaromir the Pretender, the so-called Pontiff Everardus Sextus. His machinations have plunged Almaris into a political, ecclesiastical, and moral conflict. He uses his Papal authority to undermine the anointed government of His Imperial Majesty Philip III, who Yaromir himself crowned. He betrays his flock – GOD’s chosen people of Oren – in favor of the Heretic King of Hanseti-Ruska, he who bows before the Half-men of Urguan.

 

This misalignment of loyalties forced their Imperial Majesties to withdraw their support for this crooked, ungodly man. They feared, rightly so, that the Pontiff was gathering a non-Human coalition to weaken our Holy Empire, only yielding in their fervor when it seemed sufficiently apparent  that these fears were unfounded. It is now abundantly clear, however, that the Pretender Pontiff was indeed orchestrating such treacheries; he allows a coalition wrought with sin – one bursting at its seams with non-Humans and non-Canonists – to ravage, pillage, and scar land of GOD’s own creation, carefully curated by the pious men and women of Oren.

 

Never in human history has there been such blatant bastardization of the Canonist faith – such misconstruction of its goals and its meaning – as Yaromir now perpetuates. It was commanded by GOD that the Pontiff be a builder of bridges, a neutral peacekeeping force within the realm of Canondom, and Yaromir neglects – nay,  forsakes – this role entirely. Instead of maintaining clerical neutrality and attempting to protect the unity of Man, he allows his own private allegiances and Haeseni birth to interfere in the affairs of the Holy Mother Church.

 

And yet those clerics who remain loyal to the word of GOD, such Priests as the Fathers Draskovic and Pruvia, are shunned as non-Priests; GOD’s true flock is berated by their own brethren of the cloth for the simple and solitary reason that they challenge the Pontiff’s prerogative to debase his position by weaponizing it toward political ends. These treasonous priests lean closer to their reprobate shepherd so that they may hear more clearly the words of Iblees which he whispers into their ready ears. They forsake the word of GOD in favor of one man. They forsake their duty to the Omniscient Father in favor of superfluous worldly loyalties. But be joyous, for there are those who remain uncorrupted, and to those righteous few we must look for salvation. These Godly men remind us that our one true Father is He who resides in the Seventh Sky, not he who sits the Papal Throne. For in Oren, we pray, not to a man, but to GOD.

It has always been this way, where folk feign loyalty to the faith when it benefits them, and disregard the faith when it does not, when it means they can't run around doing nefarious business, among other activities..."

But alas, I speak too much. A Canonist should argue with a schismatic only by running his sword through his bowels as far as it will go."
