Since our time of being removed viciously by The Holy Orenian Empire all those years ago, our family has stuck by one another and the Joannes name in order to remain strong. It comes with great heartbreak that I must relay the fault in my uncle, Prince Louis Owyn de Joannes. Through my regent's efforts, a plot to make off with the traditional titles of Haverlock has been discovered whereupon he did aim to become a vassal of Aaun against my will whilst claiming a title and land that is by all accounts my right. Such is not accepted by myself nor my regent. In truth I feel betrayed, he swore to my father to aid my reign, and yet whilst still in my minority he does aim to profit. This aim to profit comes at the great revelation that the man has no claim to even be of my house. A book by my late Grandfather does reveal that the man is adopted, and seeks to jump well above his station for no other reason than ambition. One must ask at this point how it is allowed by any stretch by the King of Aaun for this man to subvert my crown. One must ask what sort of man my own uncle is to plot and abandon me. For this level of disrespect, I demand proper recompense, King Charles of Aaun. For Sedan does not tolerate traitors. YOU HAVE EXACTLY ONE SAINT'S DAY. Isvinity 729 Share Posted November 25, 2022 Wind whistles over the hillside, telling of a coming storm, and the chill is cutting as a knife — but Sedan stretched below the Krüger family and their horses is a broad bowl of white and gold, with just the distant hint of a wet and mild season. The lake behind it reflects the sheet of sky, the sun set but the amber light lingering on the bowed horizon. The silence between them grows charged, thunderstruck. The sort of silence they are prone to more and more. The youngest among them casts an uneasy gaze over the Lord and Lady of the house. As for my apparent 'plot' to take my Nephew's titles, I spoke to my Brother about potentially transferring the title in order to jump-start the creation of my new family. After Peter denied my request, I left in peace and made no further attempt to subvert my Nephew's claim to his titles. As for becoming a vassal of Aaun, I am a free man capable of making my own decisions. Leaving Sedan does not put anybody in harm's way, and trying to force me to stay is ludicrous as I am no prisoner nor bound by any oath after resigning from the Goats of Sedan. Your recent letter regarding the presumed actions conducted by your uncle, Prince Louis have certainly come as a surprise to each good Canonist, including our King and his Royal Council. What he has done and plans to do we cannot say, so let me be clear to you, my brother in faith, of what we do know. There has been no discussion of your uncle’s ascension into our realm’s nobility, nor any whispers or plans of such. By all accounts, Prince Louis is a free man and can do as he wishes, so if he himself decides to pursue peerage in our realm, we will not be stopping such. She silently asked for the servant to set the plate on the small coffee table and as the servant left, she finally turned towards the coffee table and spotted the missive. As she read over it, her face paled even more than it already was. "Oh Frederick..." Amicia whispered into the thin air as a first tear left her eyes. "How I wish you were here... Our boys need you."
