RENOVATIO REGNUM AAUNICAE

AAUN RESTORED, AAUN ASCENDANT

Peace be upon you,

Long has it been since I last wrote of the machinations of the Aaunite realm, however, with our self determinism now asserted, and these multiple crises we have endured since our establishment now over, a sense of calm has returned to the Heartland of Almaris, allowing me to once more write to you all in such a manner.

And what an incredible journey this has been.

For when I first laid mine gaze upon the destruction that once was Oren, I saw only ruination. Decades of calamitous warring and ineptitude saw a once resplendent population reduced to a whimpering husk of itself - a nigh insurmountable endeavor to revitalize. Yet despite this, we have indeed done away with these burdens of the past and restored a realm in which families may grow, and hopes become realized.

This monumental accomplishment was made possible only by the efforts of our combined citizenry and the august nobility who led them into a better age. Those who toiled the fields, raised homes, and instilled life into these war struck lands, may a thousand blessings find you all.

With that, I do hereby publicize that I shall finally be taking the mantle of Kingship in all its semantics. Long have I struggled with the idea of this regal task, for I was not born in the purple as my ancestors were 267 years ago. Prior to mine own ascendance, servitude was my design - first to mine own father, naturally, then to Peter IV of Oren, John I of Balian, and the de Vilains of Acre as both farmer and ranger. My lifely tutelage did not consist of leadership, far from it, though my blood of Prophets and Emperors demand such. It is derived from this that I found myself afflicted with a device endured by all, doubt - an uncertainty that I am befitting of a Crown, Royalty and Kingship; the corruptor of men, and the ultimate prizes of the vain, but where evil lurks in these fabrications, there is also the goodness in leadership, guiding all to a better future, just as our Exalted once led as Kings and Emperors.

It is in this holy emulation that the Kingdom of Aaun was declared not with the intention of personal glory, but rather a realm able to withstand the test of such vanity, joined together under consensus now enshrined by the Great Charter, our supreme law and ethos. An ideal which has succeeded through our chaotic nascence.

With the Heartlands restored, and New Vienne rehabilitated, and the union remaining strong, I do affirm myself as Charles I, first King of the United Kingdom and Protector of the Realm - a monarch not of divinity, domination, nor inheritance, but rather of the people, raised by them, sustained by them.

The Restoration of Aaun is complete; may we now look forth to even greater dreams.

Aaunica Aeterna

Across fields of green wandered a shovel-bearing woman. She, upon spying the census of Aaun hung in it's capital, was met by a great deal of confusion.

"What the **** is a tile_93?"

"They took the previous Orenian capital's name and merely tagged it with 'new'?" Questioned the reader who was too busy observing the affairs of the world. "And I thought the name itself was supposed to be named after the late Frederick's wife. If you wish to make a better future for the people, you could at least start it without the inheritance of a kingdom you wish to not be, yet clearly are excelling in restoring without explicitly saying so." She let out a chortle to herself.

An aged Therasia Kortrevich walked about, who had actually seen the city paused her stride to comment: "They only reconstructed parts of the crumbled city. The lack of a new construction doesn't warrant an entirely new name." she educated the ill-informed reader. "You ought to visit!" she grinned, continuing along on her stride thereafter.

"A better future? Surely the good old 'pitchfork-rebels' failed at providing a good future for their people so we had to step in and provide one. I mean.. there were like four of those rebels left anyway." A scholar merely shrugged as he heard the woman; absolutely puzzled!
