Thats Bobo 63 Share Posted November 3, 2011 the thing is that what everyone should do is to make new characters because the roleplay gets ruined if all of the characters just end up in a new world. and how would big leaders of nations know that they ever were? i think its a good ide to reset everything. i think you get the point of what i mean. Civilized Orcs rule! Maybe just me
domainoft 191 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Perhaps no one will make it to the new world? No items, no explanation, no minas, no power. Everyone simply rolls new characters and joins the exciting unknown of a whole new world. Rather you choose to live a different version of your previous self would be up to you. We could still have epic battles and world ending good times with the OOC knowledge that everything will be gone soon. Kingdoms would eventually rise on the new map, And they would gain there power and items quick enough.
V0idsoldier 1139 Share Posted November 3, 2011 If the older players leave because of items (doubt that would happen) then they most likely weren't here for the right reasons. If you are just here to get rich (unless your character has a dream of being rich and you actually role play it) then your here for the wrong reasons. If they were able to push everyone out of the way before and make a name for themselves, they will do it again. Again, this server is not about items, but rather about roleplay, and epic events such as the up coming one, make this server great.
shiftnative 3103 Share Posted November 3, 2011 A purposal that has been thought alot about is "Kits" You choose a "kit" at the start based on your VIP rank You choose from building supplies, mina, tools, food or a little bit of each

For example: I donated for iron, would I still have iron privileges on the new server?

sandonthefloor 2 Share Posted November 4, 2011 A purposal that has been thought alot about is "Kits" You choose a "kit" at the start based on your VIP rank You choose from building supplies, mina, tools, food or a little bit of each Looks like you'll lose a lot of players, especially when your in the top 20 in mina count, and your VIP rank is going to limit you to probably only 10k or 20k. That is going to negatively affect your player base a lot. Hopefully you choice the "right" choice and not the RP choice.
Yuln 265 Share Posted November 4, 2011 I think the Ships should be Transferred.

A regular user that hasn't donated, that has a large amount of minas would be ripped off. And bedrock donators could just as equally, be unfairly gaining a large amount of minas or materials. This would also make things confusing if plots sizes are being transferred.

I agree, I think that the only fair way to actually make a new map, is to let people keep whatever they have in their inventories AND their minas. When you take both of these things away for just kits, it is going to be a complete pain to have to reestablish the economy all over again.

When you take both of these things away for just kits, it is going to be a complete pain to have to reestablish the economy all over again. My belief is they did it once, they can do it again. With the kits, at least no one starts from scratch. I'm sure they have kit ideas for more than just VIPs, I think a general starting kit idea would be wonderful. Also two things will happen with a restart, One, People like me with VIP land plots will get resources and sell em, and two, you'll have people farming monsters and such for minas, there is always currency farmers in everything from WoW to DDO and there is sure to be some in LoTC
Trouvo 205 Share Posted November 6, 2011 i am curious as to find out if items will be carried over will vip shops be able to be moved via the move command?
Petyr 485 Share Posted November 6, 2011 Everyone will get kits, VIPs get better ones, most likely. And, if you were so successful on this map, what's stopping you from doing it again here? I would hope that players are more concerned about RP than minas, but as someone else said, there are simply those people in every game. Regardless, we aren't trying to ruin the game for anyone, but we certainly won't be transferring every item everyone possesses. We won't tell you the specifics until then so that people don't abuse the knowledge. If we said that minas carry but items don't, everyone would try to cash their items, which would be metagaming and have undesirable consquences. h8pvmnt 27 Share Posted November 6, 2011 My 2 cents on this predicament is that there should be a mina cap for every one on the server except like Kings queens certain council or 2nd in command people.(so they can set up an economy or pay for things to be built or buy supplies. Instead of getting to keep every thing you had you should start with a Iron shovel, pick, and axe. But if the inventories are carried over then it should just be a random day so that its just what you normally have on you.
Jon Evaglno 202 Share Posted November 6, 2011 I really don't care about my stuff, but I do want to keep my character. What is the status of getting rid of all characters?
