milkyi 1988 Popular Post Share Posted March 17, 2023 Penned upon 11th of the Godfrey’s Triumph, 120 S.A. At the dawn of the 10th of Godfrey’s Triumph, the Minitzer force led by inept commanders set out to what they thought would be a speedy victory, sorely underestimating the might of the FREE men and women of Velec. It is to be noted that the lily-livered king and the perfidious Sigismund Varoche hid behind castle walls whilst queen Eleanor marched within the ranks. The King is rumoured to have said that he was against the Duke alone, but didn’t fail to send an army to Adria who without a second thought began attacking the citizenry, notably unprovoked. Earlier in the saint’s day, long before the battle, the Sons of Katzak committed a detestable act by taking innocent citizens of Adria as captives and ransoming their livelihood for profit. This act served as a warning to the Duke’s Greycloaks and the Vilac of Velec. Days leading to the conflict, forward scouts from Minitz had been circling the Adrian Duchy for many hours each day. During the battle, 350 Aaunic soldiers confronted the 310 Adrian army. To their surprise, the Adrian force let them inside the city. However, scores of Aaunic invaders broke to lead a treacherous flank up the Emalynebourg walls, and the Adrian rally charged across the bridge, crashing into the disorganised enemy ranks. What was once a peaceful market street became a gyre of steel, sweat, and blood. As the dust cleared, only a few broken standards remained standing of the Aaunic force. Leonid Vilac and Valentin van Aert took it upon themselves to defend the Duchy's honour against the Aaunic rivals. When the Adrians returned the arrow barrage, it scattered the opposing side and rendered them maimed. Lord Vilac headed the charge, and the men of the combined rallies between Adria, Vilac, van Aert, and von Draco imposed upon the Aaunic army. In the end, the Duke spared those captured at the battle, deeming them undeserving of death despite the great betrayal. Notably, no Adrian nor Vilachian lives were lost due to the poorly trained soldiers from their foes, hardly making a dent in the valiant people of Adria. monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted March 18, 2023 "FOR THE DUMA, FOR THE DUKE, FOR LIBERTY!" Paulie S. screamed, his last clear image that of the buckling Aaunish ranks before he was swallowed into the mass of writhing, struggling bodies. When he arose, the chainmail shorn from his body as he stood bloodied and beaten above the defeated invaders, the Dumacratic nation he had defended all his life still stood with him.
