There is no doubt that the move from Almaris to our new land was a treacherous one. Plenty was lost to the Mori'Quessir including the homes we’ve built and for many of us, our loved ones. Though through the hardships we’ve faced, we have prevailed and shown our strength within our communities and still we stand.

After settling into their new home and nurturing a cherished courtship for countless years, it is great delight to proclaim the imminent union between His Grace, Johanes Van Aert, and his betrothed, Klara Miray Kortrevich. To celebrate this sacrament of marriage, the two have planned a festival for those invited to indulge in.

✥ The Ceremony

His Grace and his betrothed will unite in holy matrimony under the eyes of God within the halls of the Adrian Cathedral of Saint Humbert. Following the completion of their vows, the union will be legitimized by the scribing of their names onto the marriage register.

Guests are encouraged to bring gifts for the bride and groom to ensure their marriage prospers well. These may be exchanged before the wedding party moves to the hunt.

(Sunday, 6/25, 3pm est)

✥ The Hunt

After the Ceremony, The Duke and Duchess will lead the party to the tourney grounds just outside of the Duchy. From there, groups will be taken into the surrounding wilderness to hunt for fresh meat and furs that will then be presented before the Ducal pair to be prepared for the days to follow.

✥ The Feast

With the game hunted during their outing, as a showing of their appreciation to their guests and citizens, the Duke and Duchess will present a full feast before their guests to enjoy there on the festival grounds.

INVITATIONS ARE EXTENDED TO THE FOLLOWING..

The Haeseni-born former Patriarch of Jorenus, Venerable Anders Kortrevich, would undoubtedly turn in his unmarked makeshift grave back on Almaris in the former cemetery of St. Henrik's Basilica if he knew. Alas, death is peace from the temporal, and the Seven Skies are beautiful.

"Now that is what a personal invitation looks like." Renilde folded up her invite and prepared her crossbow for the hunt. It'd been a while since she'd gone on one, and couldn't wait to partake in the stalk.

"Kortrevich, Kortrevich, Kortrevich..." A slithered and sharp tongue trilled as strange blue-grey eyes flitted over the paper, with a bird cawing nonsense into one's ear. "This couldn't have been the girl from the fountain, would it? How ... troublesome, if it were - even if she tried to ask about it before. I suppose I can always see for myself, after all..."

"Who doesn't enjoy a party-crasher?"

A letter reaches the Duke of Adria, penned by his mentor Sir Paul Montalt.

I hear you are to be wed. Once, I was set to wed my own wife as well, close to thirty-years ago now. Together, we smashed the tyranny in the war-torn city of Valfleur, and brought the Pennyduke's reign to an end. Do not make the mistake as many men do to resent your wife. If she is a woman of good character, keep her close, and teach her the value of the blade as one typically would seek to entreat a woman to use a pen.

Sincerely,

Sir Paul Dmitrievich Montalt, The Unspoken, The Tongue

The Carrot King grumbles about his own marriage as he works on his tasks.

The Norland King fondly reminisces about his own marriage, hoping John will be as happy as he is. He wonders what Norlandic gifts John and his bride would like the most. He will probably bring alcohol.

The Shogging King, also recently married, prepares to annihilate people in the brawl if certain mysterious forces do not keep them from it.

A return letter arrives not long after.

"A lesser man would take your warning as an insult, for to choose a harlot as a wife and duchess would be to possess poor judgement of character. Fear not, my old friend, for Klara and I have known each other for a good time- far too long, some would say- and I believe her to be as fond of me as I am of her. This is to say that if I am stabbed to death in my sleep, it was most likely because I was snoring too loudly.

I believe, on the morrow, we ought to spend the eve on the town. It ought to be a good night, and it will allow us to revel and merry with our dear companions before I am shackled by a ring with the strongest chain known to man.

Best Regards,

Johnny"
