Nooblius 7965 Popular Post Share Posted July 19, 2023 Issued on the 13th day of Owyn’s Flame of 1933 With the Proclamation of the League of Veletz, the days of the Free Duchy of Adria ruling over the Midland realm have come to a close. Johanes van Aert has abdicated the ducal throne of Adria, allowing a final Dumapalooza to elect his successor. With a 9 to 4 vote, Markus Marie Sarkozic was elected Duke of Adria, and the previous Duma dissolved. Now begins the arduous work of re-establishing the institutions of the Duchy to be rooted firmly in its identity without compromise and be in service to the League of Veletz. FEAST OF THE EAGLE AND CROW, A festival dedicated to Exalted Sigismund shall be held within the County of Aldersberg on Tobias’ Bounty. To celebrate the momentous occasion of the coronation of a new Duke of Adria and this era of reconstruction, the proud Midlanders of Veletz will gather in the keep, where dinner shall be served. Special brews will be made for the feast, and the Eagle’s Watch will lead a great hunt to secure food for the dinner. [OOC: Event starts at 4:00 PM EST Saturday the 22nd, Ceremony starting at 4:45.] VOWS OF AUSPICE The ceremony will begin with a prayer from Deaconess Oksana Maruysa Sarkozic, leading the gathered merry folk to temper their gaiety and, in reverence, pray for a glorious restoration of Adria. Afterward, an ordained priest of the Church will oversee the Duke swearing seven vows of Auspice and oaths to the Duchy. Upon completion, he will be crowned Markus I, Duke of Adria. PUBLIC ADDRESS The newly crowned Duke of Adria will give a brief speech to the gathered Midlanders and allies about the Duchy’s future and his commitment to a new Reconstruction Era of Adria, one of which Heinrik had ushered in previously. This new process will start with Renata von Bluecrest's knighting ceremony and establishment of the Order of Auspice. Afterward, the Adrian Duma shall be put in place, with an invitation extended to families to take the vows of Auspice and oaths to Adria likewise. The feast will proceed privately between those Adrians sworn to Auspice and participating in its new institutions. At the same time, guests are free to remain in the courtyard of Aldersberg at their leisure. We welcome all citizens of the League of Veletz, especially those with strong ties to the Duchy of Adria. In addition, those who had previously abandoned the Duchy of Adria during the civil war are likewise invited to join the festivities. … Couriers had hand-delivered special invitations to all previous peerages, citizens, and allies of Dukes Heinrik Otto and Johanes, Specifically to the Karovic Houses of the Midlands; ✶ All house members of Tuvyic, Vladovic, Basrid, Ivanovich, and Suzecht. Clearly, this momentous occasion's impact outstretched so much to the point she had no words, just a smile that cascaded over her face over this new spring of hope.
