An odd fog filled the air that day. The oxygen was heavy, and so very difficult to breathe. An elfess sat under the gates of Talar’nor, gasping for air with every other breath she took. Each inhale followed a sorrowful exhale; she wrapped an old shawl around her throat and set off on her travels. An invite was held firmly between her grasp, and she marched on through mountains and rivers, motivated by her fierce heart. Many words echoed through her mind all throughout the travel. What of the friends that could be, what of those that will be?

Unbothered, she marched on. A little sense of excitement had strangely overtaken her usually cold demeanor, filling her travels with joy. She did not know what awaited her at the end of the tunnel.

“I wonder if Io cursed me.”

Did the graceful elfess think, and then she was seen no more.

That night had been dark and cold. It did not grant the warmth desired and sought for. Nor did it grant the kindness that had been expected to be received.

A woman was left with frustration and filled with regret. Both of these conflicted inside of her mind, soured with disappointment of those fated events.

Something had been broken and lost in  those moments... What was it?

A silent figure gazed at the copper stairwell- tinted with a ochre, streaks of swathed red matter plastered upon it's surface. His gaze was stagnant, almost judgmental as he stared not at what was there, nor what will be there- rather at the stairwell itself.

The stairwell- gleaming copper-bronze.

The stairwell- covered in blood.

The stairwell- silent.

A one-eyed man would stand in an empty library, smiling wide and humming as his ears were filled with a crescendo of flies. A memory fading in and out. Experiences melding in a moment.

As he wondered, read, learned, listened, and watched he remembered.

"Ah, a shame that. Well, as is life."  He would finish his thought, with a sigh for the dead.

A newly-awoken beast indulged in a great inaugural feast— a concept it was getting used to. "Bring more," he beckoned, scraping entrails off the walls to taste and spit out. Nay, the blood was the sweet treat of the day. A shower of delight washed over the Azdrazi, a bloodied smile formed, beholding the mangled remains.
