At all hours of the day, the peripatetic nature of these wayfaring druids continued in their long journey across the continents. They knelt before their patrons in wind, in snow, in rain and fog; when the sunlight basked the canopies of their forests, or when moonlight roused fireflies in the night. In their dances and liturgies, they moulded in practice, and learned to mesh their powers in rhythm to achieve great feats of nature. When the forests remained silent, they ebbed trees across wastelands, and when the sky brought floods and storms, they paved the way for sun and warmth. With slow and articulate practice over the centuries, the druids were able to wield their ceremonial rites and tap balance into its dutiful course. EXPLANATION This lore achieves to bring in player-driven, story-narrative ritual abilities for druids without requiring other supplement feats that are restricted or not as open to the playerbase. Furthermore, one of the goals in this feat is to allow more cohesion between circles in order to accomplish great druidic feats, where they are currently unable to do so. A lot of these rituals are not combat-heavy and do not look to cause or create implements whereby druids will be able to grief the world. It is to bring more aesthetic flare. Due to the fact that druidism requires a wealth of time and dedication, ceremonial rites will be restricted to [T3] and above. ☆ The redlines and requirements for each ritual will be noted in red. ☆ As a general consensus, all rituals will require one partaking to be T3 or above. ☆ Certain rituals may have further requirements in order to complete, which will be noted in them. ☆ All druids [T3] and up can be automatically taught these rituals. Source: Anastelfy - Pinterest (???) RITUALS As of writing this lore piece, the below rituals may be accomplished with a group of druids. However, this lore opens the opportunity for druids to write other rituals in the future, either through additions or MArts. This also opens more rituals for specific subsets of druidism that have not already been written into the lore. ✯ Meteorology [Ritual] - Requirement: This requires [5] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. However,[3] druids of [T3] and above with [1] Treelord to supplement may also work. A circle of druids must set [3] kuila crystal on an area surrounded by a heath of wildlife and plants in order to complete this ritual. They must carve druidic runes in rows around the crystals so that all are connected together. Once the area has been set, druids may share their powers and endow it into the crystals, causing the runes to charge, unleashing their fae-energies to scatter into the air, warping the weather. Spoiler ☆ This ritual will require [5] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. ☆ This ritual can also be supplemented by [3] druids that are [T3] with [1] Treelord. ☆ This ritual requires the area to be somewhere in an abundance of nature, such as a forest. It cannot be completed in small gardens or inside a building. ☆ This ritual requires an open sky. It cannot be completed when indoors, or underground. ☆ With [PRO] or [RO] consent, a coven of druids can warp the weather to change. For example, making an area storm down with rain, making it snow, or bringing sun and warmth. ☆ Under ST/ET discretion, the ritual can also be used to support in ridding weather brought by event-related means. However, the ET is able to supersede this request. ☆ A story-approved sign must be placed where the ritual site is located. This weather change will last until all three crystals are destroyed. ☆ When this ritual is used in a certain location, it is advisable to write a forum post to make people aware, and to get a region-text implemented via moderation-reqs. ✯ Fishing Grounds [Ritual] - Requirement: This requires [3] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. However, [1] druid who is [T3] and above with [1] Treelord to supplement may also work. A circle of druids must set [1] kuila crystal near the shores of a lake or oceanside beach in order to complete this ritual. They must carve druidic runes around the kuila crystal in one great loop, forming a circle. Once the ritual site has been set, druids may share their powers and endow it into the crystal, causing the runes to glow and charge, unleashing fae-energies into the oceans. Immediately, the area will hum songs into the waters, and draw in sea-life. Spoiler ☆ This ritual will require [3] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. ☆ This ritual can also be supplemented by [1] druid that is [T3] with [1] Treelord. ☆ This ritual requires the area to be somewhere in near proximity to a large body of water (lake, river, sea-side). Usually, this means within a [15] block proximity to this body of water. ☆ This ritual cannot be completed in artificial lakes or water unless if it has an accessible area for fishes and other sea-life to enter. ☆ With this ritual, sea-life of all sizes will be drawn to the ritual-site. This makes for a good fishing ground. ☆ Under ST/ET discretion, the ritual can be used for spontaneous events, such as drawing in larger sea-life that require ET to play. However, the ET does not have to accept any requests, and its main purpose is not to draw in ET creatures. It is a gimmick ritual for fishing roleplay. ☆ A normal player-sign must be placed where the ritual site is located. Sealife will be drawn to the site until the crystal is destroyed. ✯ Hunting Grounds [Ritual] - Requirement: This requires [3] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. However, [1] druid who is [T3] and above with [1] Treelord to supplement may also work. A circle of druids must set [1] kuila crystal in an area filled with an abundance of wildlife, such as a forest or mountain, in order to complete this ritual. They must carve runes around the kuila crystal in one large circle. Directly next to the kuila crystal, within the same rune, one must set bait - this can be vegetation, or slabs of meat, depending on what the druid is hunting for. Once the ritual site has been fixed, druids may share their powers and endow it into the crystal, causing the runes to glow, fester, flit and charge, unleashing fae-energies that will carry the aroma of the bait across said wildlife. Immediately, wildlife will be drawn to it. Spoiler ☆ This ritual will require [3] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. ☆ This ritual can also be supplemented by [1] druid that is [T3] with [1] Treelord. ☆ This ritual requires the area to be somewhere with an abundance of wildlife. For example, mountainsides (if you are attempting to hunt mountain wildlife), or forests. ☆ This ritual requires a bait; this can be anything depending on what you are attempting to hunt. For example, nuts, acorns, or slabs of animal meat if you are hunting carnivorous beasts. ☆ Under ST/ET discretion, the ritual can be used for spontaneous events, such as drawing in larger wildlife that require ET to play. However, the ET does not have to accept any requests, and its main purpose is not to draw in ET creatures. It is a gimmick ritual for cool hunting roleplay. ☆ A normal player-sign must be placed where the ritual site is located. Wildlife will be drawn to the site until the crystal is destroyed. ☆ The ritual site will remain active, but may not draw in any wildlife, if there is no bait. One must ensure to place bait in the rune-circle before accomplishing this. ☆ One may be able to supplement larger wildlife (player-run creatures) via more kuila crystals and the size of the rune-circle. Source: The Legend of Korra - Harmonic Convergence ✯ Forestation [Greater Ritual] - Requirement: This requires [10] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. However, Treelords may supplement the number of druids as per redlines. A circle of druids must set [10] kuila crystals in an area lacking or victim of deforestation, usually in places where lumber has been chopped, or where forest-fires have been rid of nature. Due to the size of the ritual-site, each crystal will usually be supplemented by [1] druid each. Runes must be carved across each crystal, which is a long and arduous process, before all druids must supplement this ritual-site. From within the druid, their energies will ebb into the deforested area, and will begin to grow roots and sprout plants and treelife. Spoiler ☆ This ritual will require [10] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. ☆ This ritual can also be supplemented by Treelords. [1] Treelord counts as [2] druids. ☆ This ritual requires the area to be somewhere with a lack of wildlife. Usually, this means an area of land where wildlife has been ruined (deforested area from descendant woodchopping, or forest-fires). This will not work in areas such as deserts or otherwise. This can work in areas where greenery is present, but there is a lack of trees. ☆ This ritual cannot be used in regions owned by nations without [PRO] or [RO] permission. It cannot be used to grow trees into actual land where buildings are constructed, only empty patches of forests. ☆ All builds for adding trees must be completed by the druids. ST are under no requirement to help in building flora where a place has been filled with forestation. ☆ This ritual does not work in areas inflicted by necrotic or voidal blight until said blight has been removed. ☆ Under ST/ET discretion, the ritual can be refused if used in event sites which fit this criteria. However, that is up to the ET and their preference. ☆ Forestation is a hasty process that takes a few hour to accomplish when the ritual is completed. Immediately after completion, the crystals shatter, and the runes fade. ☆ All druids who partake will find themselves to be extremely exhausted for [1] OOC day; this includes being weak of strength, a strong desire to rest, or otherwise mentally worn from the arduous process of the ritual. ☆ When this ritual is used, it is advisable to write a forum post to make players aware about the accomplished feat. ✯ Tree Sealing [Greater Ritual] - Requirement: This requires [8] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. However, Treelords may supplement the number of druids as per redlines. A circle of druids must set [8] kuila crystals around [1] tree. The area in which the crystal is set does not matter, nor does the tree, as long as it is large enough to contain whatever attempts the druids are making. The beast, person, or creature they are attempting to contain must be able to fit inside the trunk of the tree; this can be artificially created via carving it open and making room-space within. The beast, person, or creature must be unable to escape during the time in which the ritual site is being set, if it hasn’t been done so already. When prepared, druids will endow their process into the kuila crystal and the runes carved around the tree; a thicket of energies will create brambles that latch around the haft of the tree, blocking exit for whatever is contained within. Spoiler ☆ To preface this ritual, druidism is not known, profound, or especially written to be able to accomplish sealing. Usually, this falls under Esthael; in this case, it is written that tree-sealing is very low-level and will probably be unable to contain anything extraordinarily powerful, and most sealing will not last particularly long. ☆ This ritual will require [8] druids that are [T3] or above in order to accomplish. ☆ This ritual can also be supplemented by Treelords. [1] Treelord counts as [2] druids. ☆ This ritual requires [1] tree. Depending on what the druids are attempting to contain, this tree should be large enough for said beast, creature or person. If it is not, the ritual will fail. ☆ This ritual can be used on players. Due to the nature of the ability, this requires [OOC] consent. It can be used in tandem with any story-line; for example, sealing another druid after they have accomplished evil, should they not wish to unattune them. Usually, the time in how long they are sealed or when they are freed should be discussed beforehand. ☆ Under ST/ET discretion, the tree can be used to seal beasts/creatures that may be able to fit within said trees trunk. However, as per ET discretion and the prefaced warning at the first redline, this should never be a permanent solution. Most will find that tree-sealing will likely only save them a few days or weeks, before whatever is contained within is able to escape. It is up to ET discretion on how long this lasts, and if this is a temporary or permanent solution. For the sake of ST clarification, most phantoms, aengudaemons, draconian beasts (drakes, wyverns, hydras) or beasts of said nature (voidal horrors, ghosts) should not be able to be sealed in this tree. ☆ All creatures or players that are sealed within the tree enter a stasis in which they are unable to move, do not age during the duration of the sealing, and are filled with unbearable pain as their limbs are locked. This is written so that players do not voluntarily seal themselves in order to freeze their age; it is a torturous method that will not be enjoyable, and definitely is not something they would volunteer for. ☆ The ritual site must have ST-approved signs clearly stating where the kuila crystals are, the runes around the tree, and what beast or person they can see trapped in the tree through the front trunk entrance. ☆ When all kuila crystals are destroyed, the seal is unleashed, and whatever is inside may be freed. If all crystals are not destroyed, the seal is weakened, allowing for whatever is inside to break free earlier. ☆ When this ritual is used, it is advisable to write a forum post detoning what has been sealed (or who). PURPOSE I wanted to write rituals. Also Vaatu from TLOK being trapped in a tree was funny, even though TLOK sucks. They're pretty useless outside of giving players a way to stop / destroy ritual sites. Personally for me, a lot of lore pieces (a bane of repetition) allow rituals with minimum requirements.
