After tallying the votes, the next elected Lord-Chancellor of the Heartlands has been determined. It was a close race, with all candidates earning their share of votes, and all putting their best foot forward in the preliminary debates. For that, they have all earned their merits, and should all be applauded. That said, only one earned the majority, and shall carry us forward into the future as our next Chancellor.

 

LOUIS-CASPIAN DIEUXMONT DE ROSIUS has secured the necessary majority vote by a slim margin, and will be henceforth known as LORD-CHANCELLOR OF THE HEARTLANDS. The Lord-Chancellor will be expected to select his Vice-Chancellor in the next few Saint’s Days, and to host a meeting of government swiftly after to organize the nation’s efforts under his leadership.

Louis-Caspian Dieuxmont de Rosius, upon being informed of the election results, slaps his office desk with both of his hands, gradually standing up before stopping with quite a simple remark, "Time for serious work. Finally."

The Princess Augusta of Aaun, the elderly grandmother to the Lord Chancellor, beamed with joy. “This calls for a Rosian revelry, most certainly,” the woman remarked offhandedly to her pet cockatoo, who stared at her blankly with its beady eyes in kind.

Sat beside the Theonus, an aged Crab ((also a former Chancellor) NOT her brother) observed the proceedings with interest. Between the two Theonus-es, he eavesdropped on their conversation, his large, circular saturno hat awkwardly poking his seat neighbor's foreheads.

"Oh, Charles. You make out like we're on the doorstep of death! He is not far younger than us." Scorned HEDWIG OF WARSOVIA, who was still very much youthful. The news could not help but make her chuckle however, shaking her head. "He'll do tremendously with the right guidance, I guarentee. I was barely of-age when I took on the role of Lady Chamberlain, so it is nothing new. Lord Louis has shown to have a remarkable skillset."

After taking the missive from a post in Faubourg, Theodore would frown down at it. Though he enjoyed the Baron in the few times he'd either met or witnessed him, Theodore wasn't particularly excited to see such a young lad take up the role. "Perhaps pitting two folks as competent as the Duke and Lady Mayor against each other was a bad idea. I wonder how close it really was between the three candidates." he says as he folds the missive up on his kitchen table. "Or perhaps this boy - this man - has more to him than I know." he admits as he throws the folded parchment in his fire.

 

"I wish him the best, and I hope he surrounds himself with folks with experience and wisdom to share."
