RAGUEL'S MESSAGE | War Preparation

On the morning of this holy day, 

 

I ventured towards the Lemonhill monastery  in order to commit to daily prayers, and thought that it would be gentry to bring my fellow men and women to join me. 

 

Upon arriving at the local cathedral, I stood humble in prayer to our Lord GOD, asking for a message. It was only a few saints’ weeks ago that an ignoble kin of Aaun plotted to godless slaughter our very own chosen shepherd and Vicar of GOD, the righteous and pious High Pontiff.

 

Amidst the prayers, there was a silent cacophony of voices that sang hymns; it brought my heart leverage, warmth, and it was a fraction of peace brought onto me during these harsh and troublesome times. 

 

It was only when I saw a spire of flames erupt before the lectern did my peace shatter, but once again, the appearance of the Aengul of Justice, messenger of our Lord, Raguel, that succumbed me back to my amity. 

 

 

 

“Here me, here me, sons and daughter of our Lord GOD, most benevolent, most omnipotent, and merciful,” cried the Aengul, and in that moment, all of our attention was focused on him. 

 

“I come to you heralding a forewarning. Hokhmat has been usurped by the servants of Iblees, and so, it must be cleansed by the righteous kith of Man,”

 

“A marquis demon of the Deceiver skulks before their magi, who so willingly covets the Void, home of Iblees, in order to tempt the prowess of our Lord!”

“No power will be able to match our Lord GOD. Some of Man, and those of Malin, and of Krug, draw from these pitless and vermin sources in an attempt to mirror our Lords’ omnipotence, but they fail.”

I listened, and this made sense. Raguel teared from his words, and in his hand, I could only see a glistening longsword wrought of light, filled by numerous eyes that flickered and flit, gazing towards us with unease. 

 

“Hokhmat must be cleansed,” he concluded.

 

And so, it must be cleansed. To all those of the lands of Grense, prepare yourself for a holy war. We will cleanse Hokhmat from the root of its trouble, and like Whitespire, allow it to rise from rubble and return into the grace of the Lord GOD, who is most merciful. 

 

I know that the Holy Church of Canon will make sense of this. To all holymen, prepare your weapons, we march soon. 

 

Prepare to mobilise for the cleansing of Hokhmat. 

 

Prepare for holy and righteous war.

Estevot read the missive, and frowned. Once again, it seemed someone was attempting to twist the Lord's will to serve their own interests, for it seemed Tiberius had left out part of the actual message about how Hohkmat would be cleansed by Raguel as Aaun was. He shook his head and made sure to anonymously send out a missive including that extra quote, intending to do something to stymie the flow of misinformation. If there was one thing he disliked, it was twisting the Lord's word.
