idk bro you might want to be asking the story admin who made the verdict that logically trumps yours,  not me

don’t shoot the messenger man my hands are up 1f64c-1f3fb.png

Story admin doesn't make Squak immune to commit errors. When there are various opinions thrown about 🤷‍♂️. I could use that excuse by saying Islamadon is the templar writer and he says that templar ability works like normal aurum

Ok, I don't care lol? You are ignoring my points by hiding that squak is the admin. If your silly little templar spell works on that, then IT CAN WORK on every other mage because like Islamadon says; the spell has aurum propeties.

So the wording should be fixed, or an amendment made to Necromancer specifying they contain this weakness. As you merely having a screenshot is not a mandate to the entire player base. The Redlines and guides are how people know how to interact and to respond to certain things with their FA/MA/CA. I am not arguing either side is wrong, but players MUST go off what the redlines say.

Necromancer is far outdated by current lore, so what does a Black soul constitute. And if that alone counts as a warped soul would it not also apply to other magics as well?

"Furious Flame is a passive ability which affects the first weapon a Templar uses during a CRP Scenario."

Problem solved we can go home now you're not CRPing in a gatehouse for ur darkspawn checks folks

This is also true, does darkspawn testing constitute initiating CRP?

If mods come out of the woodworks to say that testing RP constitues CRP, then I demand im able to pull anyone testing out of their gatehouse and beat the tar out of them.

How about we add the metal detector back but give it a chance to go off on a false positive (like u roll a crit fail or something)

I've never played as a spooky skeleton - but as far as I can tell, the problem with 'darkspawn testing' is that it erases all doubt. The resulting interaction is completely suspense-free & uninteresting. Bystanders have no cue to intervene.

all testing is binary pass/fail with 0 chance to screwup. There is like, 2 magics [Voidal Illusion + Seer maybe] that can artificially feign the result of a test. Human Knight RPers lose it when someone suggests testing RP [That is routinely just done in 1 emote with pre-made item packs] should require more effort, resources, and difficulty.

Why people with the knightly go out and kill evil MA have decidedly using their god-given flame to 'darkspawn test' is a bit baffling good thing michael-daniel or whatever is busy actually fighting somewhere! LoTC once again fights to keep as many low-effort/bad faith mechanics as they can intact for efficiencies  sake.

Yeah I just think you could avoid all of this by setting a global redline: you have to roll.

<2: critical failure (positive if true or false)

3-9: failure (negative if true or false)

10-14: negative if false, subject chooses a reaction if true

15-20: negative if false, unambiguous positive if true

Some lore specifies a reaction [Corc blood boils under salt] but in general I think this would work pretty well with Aurum and Argentum, since you have to inflict a deep wound - 1/4 chance that you test someone and the test functions as intended, though Im pretty sure most darkspawn testing is against the spirit of the lore its from barring corc salt, which is a direct "Screw this FA in particular" from ST given Silti are gone

It'd be a cool amendment but I can't see ST approving anything like this for "testing" RP - worth a try though
