To the Blessed Populace of Haelun’or,

 

After hearing the candidates for the Sohaership speak and engage in rigorous debate, you are now prepared to engage in stating your preferred choice. The voice of the Mali’thill is sacred and will be critical in swaying the future of our State. On this occasion I have deemed that this shall be executed via a ballot box found in the Eternal Library. There you will influence the appointment of the Sohaer. 

 

Go now, Children of Silver, and let Larihei’s wisdom guide your choice.

 

RULES FOR THE BALLOT

 

 

1. A Blessed Citizen may only select a single candidate by placing an ‘x’ next to the appropriate name.

 

2. Only Blessed Citizens, over the age of fifty and living within the Silver State, may engage with the ballot.

 

3. The ballot box will remain open for two Elven days from the proclamation of this missive [Wednesday, 23:30 BST/6:30PM EST].

 

4. Only the Maheral may view the contents of the ballot box and count the ballot papers [Do not metagame the ballot papers].

 

5. Illegitimate ballot papers will be discarded [You may only cast one ballot paper on one character].

 

6. Attempts to retrieve your ballot paper from the ballot box will disqualify you from this process [Do not edit your post].

Liewyn Miravaris adjusted his chef’s toque as he walked through the tavern, inventory list in hand, occasionally crossing off items with a quill. He noticed an empty ballot left on one of the freshly polished tables and snatched it up with a frown. “Such a waste of paper,” he muttered. On his way to the kitchen, he tossed the ballot into the furnace. Moments later, a plume of white smoke drifted from the tavern’s chimney.

Octavius Visaj wandered the quiet halls of the Eternal Library, the only refuge he knew from the chaos of the lessers, and the clamor of the uncultured mali'aheral who had somehow ended up in the Motherland. Not once did he even look towards the ballot box stationed in the corner. It was an object he treated with serious contempt. Instead, he stood over a table littered with tomes of Haelunorian history, meticulously arranging notes for a new submission. When the subject of the Election was raised by a fellow scholar nearby, he replied, without looking up: "No lesser faux-prince nor petty valah kingdom has ever caused as much disorder as that accursed box. We are blessed, this time, with two tolerable candidates. Let the dangerous republican theatrics be done with, and the work on the Motherland begin at last."

Avern would smile at the missive, seeing that her republic continues once more with strong candidates to lead it. She makes her way to the library and casts her vote for the first time in some cycles, relived she does not have to count the ballots this time. "ay'Larihei" she would whisper to herself as she drops the ballot in the box.

He pondered for one moment, considering placing one of the small ballot slips into a box, instead shaking his head and leaving to his homestead where he would prepare further documents and work.
