Hadrian leaned back against his chair, its legs croaking. “All paths lead to me, Sir Markus,”

"Blood for Ashford," a young Innocenzo screamed.

"A threat of destruction and servitude, worth naught more than the humor it carries. Too easy, does the oak grow from ash, and willfully, does a Glennmaer take to heart the laws of the old Tar Caraneth. Death before dishonor. A lesson best learned by your own."

To the fire, did the missive go.

The mention of Karoslund did not surprise Maya, amidst all this talk of Exalted Sigismund and his place within their faith. To reference her people would add further legitimacy to their efforts in restoring the Church to normalcy, returning it to generations of righteous tradition.

However, she remained silent. There was no declaration of support or endorsement to come from the House of Barbanov-Bihar. The Lady Crow could only wait and see how that battle in the south turned out. For now, she tended to those who relied upon her, those who only continued to lose so much in this age of conflict and the Mountain's terror.

The aging Count of Stirland and Lord of the Stars sat in his keep reading over the missive, mulling over a choice, the scroll of auspice sat upon his shelf, eyeing him as he watches the faithful march for the preservation of the Exalted.  "Blood for Ashford"

"Third time's the charm," said Knight Katharina. The nasty woman smirked Savoyardly, pouring an entire bottle of oil over her cuirass in preparation.

To the Norland Governor, Karoslund will be granted independence from your heathenous realm, and vassalized directly under the Empire.

After a long period of mourning, a woman of the draconic stirred once from the depths of her cavern. Those golden ophidian hues of hers read over the most recent conflict brewing in the realm, to which the creature lifted an ornate blade from its display and donned her sheath with a shrill of the metal being tucked within it.  "An oath is an oath - a pact to be fulfilled." She muttered in the candlelight, the scion of a dragon ready to defend a young crow in the north. It seemed that the Princess of Starlight was stepping out of her retirement from politics.

Lord Llyw Glennmaer was doing his squire tasks within Formindon.
As he came across the missive and read it with a smirk. Once he read the end, he burst into laughter, uttering then;
"Throw your men onto our walls and die a pitiful death."

Roger,

All you’ve shown is you’ve got no real answer. You hide behind other men’s words because you’ve nothing of your own.

Your demands are laughable. You don’t have the weight to order around Vassals or The Church. You’re a small man shouting big, and everyone can see it.

We offered you the chance to end this with apologies. You chose insults and war. Fine. The blood spilled will be on your head.

"To involve the church in this matter, at all, has been folly." mentioned the Emperor then and cast a weary gaze upon his Carbarum weapon.

"It’sth funny, it is. Both Rostova’sth and De Rouen owe almost everything to Van Aert. But only one of them has true loyalty to the heir’sth of Gaspard." Larkin Winburgh lets out a short laugh as he reads over the missive once more. "What a funny joke Drusco has become of late."

Caz wipes the charcoal from their fingers, their activities as of late mostly occupied with drawing up blueprints and drinking heavily. They squint at the missive a concerned man-at-arms is holding in front of their face. “… T’at’s nae e’en independence t’en, is et? Et’s jus’ gettin’ tossed frae one King tae th’ o’er.” They scowl, then. “Nae like t’ey bo’ered tae ask us abou’ t’is shite.”

A plethora of further “Erm Actually”-esque comments proceed to be lobbied at the poor messanger. Regardless, the Petran treasurer is more invigorated to fight for Numendil than ever after seeing this part of the missive.

Claude sat alone. The missive reached him, and for a moment he did nothing but breathe. His shoulders eased, though the set of his jaw remained firm. Crossing his arms over his chest, he closed his eyes briefly in quiet recollection, gathering himself.

To Garenbrig, your first and last mistake was signing that missive. For this, we will burn your keep, and your heir will ward under Drusco.

The Princess of Garenbrig, now known as Tir-Glas showed such a missive to the Prince, her gaze darkened as she near crumpled the darn missive, challenging to take their heir, their home, their daughter.

The Dawn’s pyre continued to burn, though today, did its inferno flare brilliantly.

Artair spares but half a second for the paper as it crosses his desk before he shoves it back into the bannerman's hands

"such ist for der Archduke to tell mich, at anyrate ich work to free our home from darkness, nicht listen to der petty polotiking of lords"

he says as his eyes turn back to a map, battle's raged against the forces from that damned mountain all across the Riverlands.

The wars of lords could wait
