I'll give you whats wrong with the Naz community, so much so, I support this amendment. Currently Naztherak suffer, as it's inherent and ontological evil nature is shifted by the current players. Majority are cursed children, elves, or adjacent, hellbent upon pursuing SOL RP or romance, such even extending to their demons. Who in roleplay are told, "babysit my children :3", "please serve me tea.". Naztherak will never truly prosper if people aren't willing to fulfill the archetype that comes with it. Warlocks and Witches, not baby mamas and widows/widowers.

THATS WHAT IM SAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see some problems with this, you can have 5 people go raid a smaller coven and force DC multiple people if they are able to capture them with no chance of redemption. not to mention this comes with the fact that it permanently locks out magic slots for that persona.

ok josh, imma need you to realize that requires 5 T5 Naz or the rare Zar’akaal. How often do you see squads of warlocks moving? Even then why wouldn’t they just do it? The weak are meat is a slogan in the whole thing

I get the appeal of making disconnection permanent since it raises the stakes and keeps Naz competitive. But if we want to avoid OOC drama or cheap, low-effort wipes, I think the better answer is to make the ritual harder. It should take serious planning, resources, and coordination to actually pull off, because Naz has always been about covens, hierarchy, and trust. The tension of the magic comes from never knowing if the people around you will back you up or stab you in the back, and that shouldn’t turn into “one quick ritual and your whole coven’s gone.”

When you pick up Naz, you’re signing up for those risks!!!! and anyone you teach should know the same. That doesn’t mean the ritual should be abused, but it does mean dark magic should come with consequences!!! Think of Dr.Facilier from Princess and the Frog (Don't get me started on the Voodoo Rep in that movie..) he failed his bargain, and the spirits came to collect. That’s the kind of weight Naz should carry. One wrong move, and the punishment should hit hard! This is a team effort as well! KNOW who you're teaching, KNOW who is teaching you. Pick your Enemies! Pick your friends dude!!!

My silly pitch:  Make the ritual a heavy amount of effort so that in a sense for some people, It stays.. 'rare' or however you want to perceive it as. That way you keep the risk/reward !! While avoiding cheap wipes that erase Covens in like a week lol in everybody's perspectives.

Reminder that even if you get disconnected, your character story isn't over, and there are still various of paths for your character to follow through on, with or without magic.

TLDR:

I like this idea! The idea of higher stakes! and creating roleplay about who to trust and who not to trust. Making Dc's possibly a bit harder in the process can also help with this caution everybody has, but that's truly on how everyone wants to move forward with that, harder or not. And also This would help with preventing it to have the same outcome as Necromancy at the moment if anything..  + Evil Magic has RISKS!!! DARK MAGIC SHOULD HAVE RISKS!!!

I see how it could be good for Certain people, but i just mostly see this getting abused and getting really toxic with some groups instead of good roleplay

Funny thing is this ritual is already sparking a bunch of toxicity, within this week alone 4 naztheraks we're already disconnected by the very same people after having been outed by another player

"this ritual is already sparking a bunch of toxicity" even though the rite isn't even implemented yet. the raid yesterday went relatively fine aside from the usual CRP hiccups, and most people were RPing with each other cordially, I'm unsure what you're referring to when you cite toxicity if not for the two people on the defender's side who were being completely uncooperative the entire time in spite of a mod verdict at some points. like you can feel how you want about the RP I can't control that but engaging in hysterics about how toxic and abusable this amendment inherently is, is silly and objectively wrong

though if there were people on the attacker's side who were actually engaging in backdoor toxicity w/o our knowing by all means just communicate that with us in DMs

Perhaps if you have room you can steal their demons too, like Team Rocket from the Nintendo Corporation's famous trading card game, video game, television and movie franchise, and toy line: Pokemon. See below for an example:

after having been outed by another player

when you completely invalidate your own point by presenting the reason why people are being disconnected

at the end of the day, everyone that is so shocked and surprised that naz has harsh redlines/disconnection is just proving to everyone else that you didn't read the lore.

More food for thought: maybe there could be a Naztherak named Ash Cookem who works with a reliable and spunky bound imp, a subtype of demon (GRIMOIRE MONSTER?) that is traditionally overlooked. Things to seriously consider.
