[Ooc] New Sub-Race Ideas

Hey, I was browsing the Orc roleplay forums and found somewhere that the Shaman race is going. Even if this still isn't planned, I have two race ideas in replacement, or just to add.

Troll The Troll would be a Orc standing about 11 feet tall. Trolls cannot build, they live in caves where they store food and the left overs of their enemies. They are also very dumb, so you cant have a huge power-gaming Troll decimating humans or smaller Orcs in battle, you need to use the facts that Trolls aren't smart and can't win a fight just like that. Trolls are also very strong, so they usually can't be held down or anything like that.

Cave-Orc(Not very sure what to call it): So Cave Orc's, I don't really have the name down, so be sure to leave suggestions. Cave Orc's would be like the Orcs of Moria in Lord of The Rings, afraid of sunlight and dwell in large underground tunnels. They would be about 6 feet tall or a bit more, just a bit bigger then a tall human, and they have little nimble hands. This makes them use short-swords, bows, knives, or small throwing axes as weapons.

Give me your thoughts on these sub-races.

The problem with those trolls is the some of the problems the orcs have right now: you get those players who disregard all the negatives and play only the upsides of their race, saying they're huge and strong because they're trolls, but neglecting to be slow and stupid. There isn't really a way to deal with these players, aside from tracking them down and dealing with each of the individually. Note: I'm not saying these bad role-players are unique to the orcs, they're just one clear example of the problem I'm talking about. A large majority of orcs are good role-players, and great fun too.

The cave-orcs sound a little like a blend of normal orcs and goblins. You would run into problems with people disregarding the sunlight problem, but that is a very limiting restriction to place on players. Aside from that, what really makes them different from normal orcs, aside from being a bit smaller and afraid of the sun?

The Cave-Orcs, sound a bitish like the Mori thing, except instead of being hurt by the sun/glowstone or w/e it is, it's more of an emotional pain, in my opinion a group of orcs could to decide to do this themselves, and develop these traits. I'm not much of one to put a person down or anything, but I don't think this would go very far/actually become official.

That seems a very good idea. But what do you mean by "emotional pain?" Give a definition of your meaning in this topic please.

I am no orc but I can comment I think. First off Trolls already exist in the game; they work with the bloodmages and the orc things in Moria in LotR are goblins.

Our goblins are not the LotR moria Orcs. Our goblins are similar in physical makeup, but are closer to WoW goblins in culture. Someone has also already mentioned that Trolls have been taken by the bloodmages.

orcs are neither slow or stupid, this is just a myth, they are just as intelligent if not more so than the other races

No, I would imagine you would be incredibly fast and smart if you were an 11-ft tall powergamer.

They are not incredibally stupid. It depends on the orc. We some great orcs and others that arent that smart. Most orcs are slow and clunky although there still are some that are thinner an less clunky.

I never said they were all incredibly stupid, I was just having a poke at a number of orcs who are massive powergamers. I know quite a few who easily make up for them though.

Yea, I don't know at what point in time you thought derailing a thread was ok so that you could "poke fun" at Orcs in the Orc Roleplay forums, on a thread not relevant to whether or not Orcs powergame, in response to a correct post aimed at setting a record straight for someone misinformed OOCly, but that isn't appropriate. I am more than willing to have a discussion with you about

how Orcs have an average level of intelligence, and that the individual athletic prowess of each Orc varies, but the race as a whole is generally athletically superior to Humans (though I would certainly expect an Elf to be faster and more agile than an Orc).

However that is not relevant to the topic this thread is about. Please do not come into our roleplay forums and derail our threads because you have a grudge at some Orcs. It is widely inappropriate behavior.

I know a lot of dwarves/humans/elves/kharajhyr/ and mori who are massive powergamers. So, your point is?
