SSo another poll tomm will reduce the amounts of nations. I like the idea of two kingdoms as they will alway be full of rich rp but with that comes a lack of racial differences and many internal conflict, which can be good. Having custom terrain is a must and whole islands can rise.

Question o you would you think any races would combine for one strong kingdom. Dwarves and orcs together would be.....interesting yet hard to have a good conversation lol

The problem with Asulon, the map was made right before the new height came out, so we lost on all these big RP mountains and such.

When / If we go to a new map, I don't really want charters of land. Is it that hard to arrange a role-play meeting with a nation leader? Leader isn't online at the time? PM him/her, arrange a date.

To live in one big nation is really an idealistic view. Everyone don't get along. The kingdom will eventually split, defeating the purpose.

Another thing to consider: Too many people in one chunk creates tons of lag (Remember when we first logged into Asulon? Yep), and the chat would get flooded, making it really confusing to RP with a specific person.

I say we just see if we can find a way to become the old 5 nations again. Oren, Dwarfs, Alras, Malinor, and Orcs, like back in Aegis

TL;DR

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade -- work with the things you have to make them great, don't be bitter about things you don't have. It's all about being a community, one big family of people who are here for the same reasons and will support another to make things work.

Just my two cents though, no need to pay attention to it.

Why not lemon pie? :P

The charter system was created so GMs could keep track of villages, so there would be some documentation.

Perhaps in the future, rather than have a charter to create a village, you post on a certain topic that has a master list of all the villages / towns / cities, -after- your village has been approved by a nation leader. Nation leaders would do roughly the same thing as the charter, with less hassle, since which nation leader would simply approve a village that has no one living in it but you?

If we do make a new map, possibly encourage people to go to a certain place, such as a jobs plugin, or a stats training plugin to go with NPCs? People would flock there, train and/or do jobs, and then meet each other and spar or do their missions together.

TL;DR: More attractions in a place could turn it into an RP hub.

I really like the idea of the Undead and Ascended's return, just saying

I jest, thanks for this "official" source, Hiebe :)

Moving is another temporary solution to a permanent problem. We should elect people to do the same task as Mogroka, and pull the rp racial communities together to have denser populations and better roleplay. Of course, it's not too late to make custom terrain either.

Moggy is taking a ooc problem and fixing it rply. This is all ooc information where any of the top nations can survive when the time comes. But I would rather have 3-4 nations rather then 8 like we do now.

Charters

Must be done in RP first.

People can only sign two carters. If the charter they sign gets denied or destroyed they get their sign back.

Charters will pay the land owner the money instead of native.

If made in the wilds the charter would be done to the monks asking for portection.

Thoughts?

Another thing.... Racial Spawns. Instead of us all spawning in one location make new players or when we first spawn would be in our racial area wherever it is. Then later on people can set their alliegence (with the new kingdoms plugin) and that will be where they will spawn next. Everyone would get their default spawn location then have (base on their VIP) more spots to SS to.

Please read my post. This is for WHEN or IF we even move. If you want to try and fix things go right ahead and do it.

Everyone I hvae edited the OP for a new question be sure to read it and give your opinions!

You aren't understanding what we are trying to say. Your priorities are not in order. We must make this map better first and work out the problems. When the time comes that we are going to have a new map, we will do this.

Also by saying which races move on, you are alienating smaller races, making people feel as if those races are not important and to Roleplay a character in that race is pointless.

The concept of the "alliance-horde" for LotC piqued me. Two huge capitals for the use of two warring fronts, both bustling in regards of trade, politics and intrigue, and small litters of settlements dotting around said capitals, keep in mind a small few, representing the heartlands of a particular race. Civil conflict will occur as said alliances falter and wither (but never truly crumble due to losing against the greater enemy) and said conflict from both the inside and out could create dynamic RP.

Currently Asulon seems too bulky, because while Godfrey can conquer half the map, he can't really nuke and destroy ever previous settlement, and "truly" reunite the humans. They will all have their little duchies and homesteads, prowling far from Arethor to govern their own lands. The one banner is a saddening one and difficult to move past. And through said conquest, the balance of power is radically shifted. If the elves, dwarves, and orcs even banded together, I'm not sure if they could handle the might of Renatus, and the lack of conflict caused by this juggernaut, invincible empire creates boredom among many and little incentive to drive on.

Hmm, kinda like Greece back in the pre-roman times. Always fighting one another, but perfectly willing to put aside heir difference and fight the larger threat (Persians)

Again you yet to understand. This is totally of the people for the people and by the people and what they want and can be used by the development if they choose too. Anyhting that goes here is not set in stone nor is it ever going to be use. Please understand Id rather not talk bout fixing the map or not moving cause I have already decided.

Also if you look this is for NATIONS not races. I would never ask someone to kill off their character. Races can still live on but would they have their own nation? maybe not. maybe they band up with another races/nation to make their nation stronger and better rp.

Updated OP with a brand new question!

I can see that going horribly, horribly wrong.

Honestly, after all the qq about the playerbase being spread out, why the heck would we vote for two large continents? That's what we have right now, the Elven lands, and everybody else, and we've all seen what happens. One mainland is the only way to keep one hundred people within reasonable distance.

As for geography, Asulon feels too much like a snowglobe, or like it's made of glass. Already perfect, and no room for change. I always feel like if I'm going to tough something, the whole place will shatter. Aegis had more of a... free feeling to it, and one that I feel needs to be replicated in the next map. Cities should be closer togeather. It's all very well to be realistic, and seperate by thousands of blocks, but there are only 140 people on at any given time. Not nearly enough to replicate realistic distance.
