Hey everyone. It's been almost a month since Reag and I both joined the staff of LotC. I'd like to say we've made some great progress recovering from when we started, but we're still a long way off.

I'm going to give you a recap of today's update, to keep you informed. As well as that, I want to share with you some awesome new features new month will bring us!

First of all, I've fixed Soulstones Generally bugging out and suffocating people to death. It's not perfect yet, but I can promise you that the Cloud Temple soulstone location will no longer kill you. I do apologize for all the lost items. I've also made instructions a little more clear, and soulstones will be given back to you upon relogging. Though this option will most likely be optional in the future.

Secondly, I know many of you have seen and been annoyed by Wandering Souls. This is now fixed. After a week of managing with permission nodes, we finally got this one working. Wandering souls should now stay vanished, and when they're accepted, they'll be granted with a unique cookie!

Thirdly, you are all filthy rich. It's no mystery at this point that everyone has permission to granting themselves a million minas! The permissions on that issue have been resolved and all players who abused the command have been banned (I kid, of course).

Our fourth major change is related to 1.4's NBT custom name support.

I spent roughly 5 hours building a structure to use NBT tags for items without fail.

You'll notice the first change with your soulstone. We'll be using this more in the future with professions!

Here are a few examples of what we can do with these new tools.

You may ask for a custom named item if it's lore related, but PLEASE do not submit a modreq about it.

These custom named items will play a huge role in almost every aspect of the game, mostly including our upcoming Professions System!

My Plan for Next Month:

-Return of the BuddyList!

-A Working Economy

-New Chat System

-Knockout Plugin(This is a maybe)

-Professions

I cannot wait to get started on these new projects next month. If you have any suggestions, post them here where I will absolutely read them. It's been a pleasure developing plugins for LotC so far. I'm looking forward to November!

Now talking seriously. In my opinion the knockout plugin should be off everywhere, if anyone needs it on, to give you an example the orcs for a few klomps, they could ask an admin to turn it on, but only in the region needed.

What about bookworm? Though we can now write/place books, what about the ones that were placed in shelves prior to DDoS attacks? Are they permanently gone?

Hey just a question, with this naming thing, in future will everyone (or blacksmiths as a proffession) get to use one or do we have to post legendary weapons requests?

Great job so far man, also, please don't add PvP skills along with the professions. Skill systems tend to ruin pvp. And if the knockout plugin, please add the toggability of lethal combat.

I've always disliked applications/requests/tickets, whatever you want to call them to get approval. One of the sub-professions of Blacksmithing will be the ability to engrave titles onto weaponry/amour and a few other materials. Though it will still provide the creator of the item.

Where do I go for a custom named item?

I'd just continue to Roleplay, you'll find some along the way. The only two items that currently have custom names are Soulstones and Welcoming Cookies (given to newly accepted players).

Hey, thanks! I definitely agree. That's something the rest of the staff feels strongly about. We'll stay away from pvp and most parts of combat in general. Swords won't be better than others necesarily, but they'll provide some kind of bonus, like extended durability, unique sounds, or a special effect. It's still a big work in progress.

When/if knockout returns, I'll make sure it's optional. We'll definitely also make sure we log every instance of player kills, because no-rp kills are getting out of hand these days!
