Gathering The Clans

 Share

Recommended Posts

A strong, distinct sound echoes throughout the Streets of New Arethor, one not native to the land, yet is mildly familiar. The blaring sound of Pipes rings, and that must mean the Clans are soon in tow, Kilts sailing and pipers wailing.

A Grand line-up of Clans, with magnificent Tartans and colourful banners marches through the streets, fixed into regimental position, towards the Grand Keep.

"ARMAS?!" "CAELACH?" "STARK?"

The Clans assemble, and enter the Main keep, Rowdily and messily, breaking from the tight Regimental march.

(( Rp thread about the current Adunian Situation. Anyone Involved may post here. No OOC, or at least not much. Will Add onto this when Mog writes his bit. ))

Each Clan takes a table settling down, there Banner Hoisted behind them. The Imperial Pipers and Drummers stand to the end of the hall, as they start to play.

Emperor Godfrey Enters the hall followed by his sons and grandsons, oddly they are not dressed as they commonly are. Godfrey wore a cap, somewhat wedge-shaped, longer than wider, creased lengthwise on the top, a few black feathers were upright to the side of the cap, and with trailing ribbons of gold, he had woren a black and grey tailored kilt, with its tapered pleats (tapered from seat to waist) it was fastened about his body securely enough with buckles and straps. A sporran hang from his waist it was made of leather, had a fur-trimming and face with gold, it was suspended from a sporran belt which was narrow made of leather. His hose was white, it had a sgian-dubh tucked into the the top of the kilt hose, it was quite elaborate with sliver and gem ornament designs. A dirk hung from his kilt belt as well, he had pinned to his apron two kilt pins they were gold and they held the crest of a dragon.

He stands tall before his throne looking towards the Clans, they stand all together bang there chest with there fists and bow there heads.

Godfrey opens his arms forward bringing them down slowly gesturing for them to sit once more, his lips part he says with a different dialect than people used to know of him.

Hail to ye noble Clans, I be chuffed that ye all be here, he says before sitting down as he dose he motions for servants to start pouring ale and placing food for his guests.

Thorenir Elendil smiles as he stands with the rest of the Adunians, pleased to see Godfrey doing his best to fit in among the people. He takes a step forward from the crowd and speaks out to the emperor, "My liege, could we perhaps begin this meeting by explaining to the current situation to the gathered clans?".

*Torrhen sits at at the table, his hands rested on the table. He looks over to the Emperor. "I have taken the liberty of explaining the issue to the Clan Heads of Armas, Stark,MacCray ,Skara Brae, Caellach, McHaryn, Stafyr,Angus, and Douglas. They are fully aware of the situation at hand."

He shoots a glare to Thorenir and gives him a cold stare. "The Lia Lial, our Stone of King's, has decided my daughter will rule when she comes of age, and I shall remain Lord until then. If any Clan Chief shall go against the Lia Lial, than he goes against the very symbol of Adunian pride."

"Your Imperial Majesty, your word is final on the matter, yet the Stone has spoken what is best for all Adunia. I hope you, as well as all men and women here today, do not disregard the stone."

Thomas walks in, not being of any of those clans, but still being Adunian and interested in this. He stands back against a wall, and listens,

Godwein rises slowly from his chair, looking to all the lords and clan heads, speaking up.

"Men of the Clans, your grace, your Imperial Majesty, as head of House Stafyr or Clan Stafyr in this respect, instead of talking around the topic for an inadequate amount of time, I shall briefly state the position of mine..."

He breathes silently, his mushroom tissue on his face pulsing slightly.

"I shall support House Elendil in it's very own decision. If they desire to have Lady Elendil as the head of House Elendil, then I shall support this decision. That is all."

Godwein sits down, folding his hands on the table, awaiting other statements.

Newly appointed 'Guardian of Adunia', Ser Hanrahan Brae wanders in late, as per usual.

"Lords, and Ladies. Emperor Godfrey. Torrhen, Bella, Harrion."

"To say first, Clan Skara Brae fully supports Lady Isabella's claim to the title by Divine mandate, for the Lia Fial has indeed spoken. Any who disagree, do not obviously command a respect for Ancient tradition. I must also say, the worst thing for the Adunian people is to split it with Infighting, as we haven't the number to support any of that. United we stand strong, divided we fall, as history has taught us many times.

Godric nods to Hanrahan's statement, giving a cold smile around the room as he slowly rises from his seat, taking a deep breathe. "People of the Clans, Yer Grace, Yer Imperial Majesteh, Armas gladly supports Elendil an' Lady Isabella's claim tu t'eh Adunian cruwn. T'eh Lia Lial has spoken, an' Armas shull 'onour its decision, forever and always."

Still smiling, he sits back down, looking around the room at the Clans.

Thorenir looks out over the clansmen, "People of the Adunia, you have been decieved by Torrhen, the false Lord of our kind! Many years past, the great man who reunited our race after the troubling times of Aegis, Artorus Elendil, named Torrhen his heir by Orenian law. My own father, Halboron, came to Artorus and reminded him of the ancient Adunian tradition that decides who is the heir of a Lord. Said tradition, is that the heir of an Adunian Lord is always his youngest son. As Torrhen was not his youngest son, Artorus happily agreed to follow said tradition and pass the role of his heir unto Harrion. Years later, when Harrion was away on a pilgrimage, serving this very empire, our Lord Artorus was deceived into rebelling against the emperor, and most horrifically, he was slain during battle. But while the rest of us were grieving for the loss of our Lord, Torrhen was scheming to take back the crown that was once promised to him, but still a crown that was not his. As Harrion was away and there was no way to contact him, what Torrhen should have done was take the position of regent until his return, but instead Torrhen was filled with greed. He stole the position that had been righteously promised to his younger brother. And now, when we try to set things right, put the true Lord of our race in charge, Torrhen deceives you all into following his cause! This magic stone he talks of, that 'chooses' our Lords, its blasphemy! I am the Adunian Keeper of Knowledge! I have every last artifact and scroll to do with our race that hasnt been destroyed in Lord Harrion's fort, and I have never seen or read about this stupid rock! Nor has anyone else I know! Torrhen has simply made this up for his own favour, I mean, why would we even have this stone when we already have a tradition for deciding who is our leader? Now, if I may remind you all once more of the tradition that chooses an Adunian Lord's heir. The heir of an Adunian Lord is always his youngest son. Notice the 'his' and the 'son' in that sentence? Aye! Tis because an Adunian Lord is always male, there is never, and will never truly be a female one! I can understand your support for Bella, I mean if I were to completely disregard our traditions, Id support my little cousin aswell! But for once, we need to stay true to our race. Harrion is the only rightful heir here. You best place your support wisely."

Alasdair Caellach stands from his seat beside Lord Thorenir, looking about the room with narrowed eyes. He stops as his eyes reach Torrhen, a slight flicker of indiscernible emotion flashes through them. Alasdair then turns to Godfrey and bows his head for a moment before beginning to speak.

"I am Alasdair of Clan Caellach, Thane to the True Heir of the Adunia, and I for one do no' follow the 'wisdom' of a rock. With tha' said, in the absence of my brother Alain I cast the full support of Clan Caellach behind Harrion."

With that he lowers himself back into his seat, folding his arms across his chest.

Maester Septimus Hodge stands up from his seat beside Harrion Elendil. He adjusts his coat and furs. He begins to speak.

"Ye' probably 'aven't 'eard of me. The only ones who'll know me will be those who were close to to Winterhall. I'm Septimus Hodge, I served Artorus loyally, and cared for 'is children when they were young. I'm a close friend of Harrion's, and I've stayed by his side. 'E may 'ave been gone, but 'e was the true heir, declared by Artorus. Artorus gave him tha' sword, and Harrion kept it, no matter what that brat Torrhen Elendil says. Harrion's a good man, and a good ruler. He's done more for Adunia in this land than Torrhen's done in years. If ye' haven't noticed...

Septimus clears his throat, and raises his voice.

TORRHEN HAS BEEN GONE FOR A BLOODY LONG TIME.

Septimus returns to his normal volume.

Harrion left tae' pursue tha' holy path o' tha' Faith. More than anyone can say fer Torrhen. Another thing tae' address; I'm Adunian. I may not currently belong tae' any one clan, but I've got their blood in me. My great-grandfather was a member of tha' long-dead Clan Redoak. I have rights tae' be here, rights tae' support Harrion, and rights tae' bring this banner up.

He unfolds a banner from his bag, and hooks it on the wall behind him. It displays a red tree on a field of grey.

That's tha' banner of my family, and we've stayed dormant for a very long time. That's not happenin' anymore. Clan Redoak gives their support tae' Harrion Elendil.

Septimus sits down, and smiles.

Aedric rises, standing side by side to Thorenir.

"My 'Adunian' blood is long gone thin into the ancient families, but I believe that true northerners should have a say in this..."

Aedric sighs, looking down, his voice full of grief.

"Torrhen killed my only heir. My sons blood stains tha' bastards sword. An' I Stan' with Thorenir on this "stone" thing. It's a load 'uv fuckin' ****. But- the Ulfhaedyns an' my Norsemen vouch for Harrion. Isabella will only be Torrhens little puppet. The Elendil throne belongs to Harrion. May his holy arse reside on it till the Creator sees fit."

Martin rises from his seat looking at the rest of the clans before turning his gaze to Godfrey and bowing his head before beginning to speak.

" Your majesty, I am Martin of Clan Loyola, and Thane to Harrion the rightful heir of the Adunian throne. I was there when Artorus first began rebuilding the Adunian race, I was there when new Ildon was constructed, and in my time, never have I seen or heard word of the Lia Lial, this 'stone of kings'. I can verify on Thorenir's statement that Harrion is the rightful heir to the Adunian throne, and that his role as the heir being taken by his older brother, Torrehn. With that all said I place my family's support on Harrion to lead the Adunian race. That is all I have to say for now on this matter."

Martin takes his seat waiting for the response of the rest of the clans.
