((Please state why we can trust you with this job)): Well, even though IC'ly Azel does speak out against others, he is one to be loyal and take his work seriously. When he takes a job, he does it to his utmost full potential. For example when he became a Sentinel, even though he had done so much and deserved more than the peacekeeper position, he worked his way up. Another example, even though Khel did not accept him officialy, Azel has taken up a position as a bodyguard and has run full force into a battle to Evark the Lich (twice) to aid Khel where he could. Also I have never been involved in drama and I have no ban/strike reports.

((Why, as a player, do you wish to join the lower council?)): It is not so much as joining the lower council, but more of trying in any way possible to aid in the defense and growth of Malinor. By joining the lower council as an Ambassador, I am able to travel between lands and create peace via word and not via sword. On many occasions Azel has rushed headlong to defend his people, even if it meant the death of himself. IC'ly on one occasion Azel and Evark fought one on one so Khel can survive the confrontation.

What nation do you reside in, if any: Malinor and an unclaimed area.

Do you hold any allegiances to other nations and or organizations/guilds? If so state them, and their nature: Only Malinor as of now, but in the past I have helped out Oren within to keep the peace.

Do you have any work experience, if so where and what: Yes, I am an experienced fisherman, hunter and farmer. On several occasions I have taken my own produce and placed it into the Malinor food chests just to help out where I could. My only other real work experience would be the defense of Malinor via the Sentinels and I am sure Silir (SirSmithers) can vouch for this.

Do you have a criminal record, if so state your offenses: No criminal record whatsoever.

Why do you feel you are suited for Job Choice 1: I feel that I am suited for job one because unlike others in Malinor, I do not seek out this position for greed, I seek this position to create peace. As a warrior and peacekeeper, my dream is not to fight day after day in never ending wars, but to put an end to the fighting. Picking up the blade was the only way I thought possible at first, but now it seems that by becoming the Ambassador to Malinor, I can and hopefully will be able to promote peace in peaceful environments. On one occasion nearly two years ago Khel told me I was destined for greatness, at first and even now I am not quite sure that this is what he was speaking of, or even if I will ever achieve said greatness, but I am willing to help out where I can.

 In my time living in Malinor I have held jobs in two domains. I was a farmer when I first integrated with Normandor and I was the one that designed and built the underfarm on the farming island. I also was enlisted in the Normandor Guard where I quickly was promoted through the ranks and into the second in command position. Eventually I was offered the role of High Commander but turned it down for personal reasons.

 

What is your opinion on the unification of the Mali?:

The unification of the Mali was a wise choice for all Mali not just parts of us. If we would have existed separately on Elysium it would have been inevitable that out Mali’Ker cousins would have been hunted down by the other races. I do not quite understand the grudge the Valah hold against the Ker but I am determined to safeguard my kin. In each of our races we hold unique skills that when combined create a well-crafted and flourishing trifecta while still having the ability to keep our individual culture.

 

Do you hold any allegiances to other nations and or organizations/guilds? If so state them, and their nature:

I hold no allegiance to anyone but Malinor, nor do I wish to. Malinor is the blessed Realm

I believe that I am a level headed Mali with a lot of potential to bring prosperity to Malinor. I have lived my life to make others happy and by doing so I have felt fulfilled thus far. I believe that I am able to remain a neutral figure amongst the public, something that is incredibly important when serving on the council. None of my actions are layered in secrecy and I always act through, what one may call my heart. I am very open with people about my opinions as well as theirs.

 

If brought on to the council one could expect my full devotion and engagement to any task given. I am determined to brighten the future of Malinor and enlighten the other races of our prosperous people through peace and diplomacy.

 

Whether or not I am accepted onto the council through this application I will continue to serve Malinor.

I have held second –in-command positions in the Normandor Guard putting me in charge of most of the Guard and military.

 

However I do not make strategic judgments any more than I rationalize them. My head is not clouded by war and in no way would I use my past military knowledge to become some type of “War Prince.” Such a title only leads to weakened diplomatic situations just as it has in the past. However being acquainted with many ways of thinking things through will be most beneficial on a council seat.

The council is elected by the populace to act as figureheads to the Mali and the other nations. The council shapes Malinor by introducing and amending current laws. When it comes to taking a vote everyone on the council receives one vote except for the High Prince or Princess who receives two, and if I am not mistaken, holds the power to veto.

I am quite adept with architecture, and could lend a hand and an eye to future builds.

For many years have I devoted myself to Malinor, giving it my sweat, my tears and my blood.

The revocation had to occur as a complication in roleplay during a heated RP fight had caused a chain of complications, which lead to unintentional powergaming.

((Why, as a player, do you wish to join the high council?)): I wish to have the power to play a character that has some control and grip of what happens. Recently, the Princedom has been on a decline, which isn't the fault of anybody specific. So I'd like to make it my personal job, as well as others who partake in the roleplay I have to offer a chance to gain from it, as well as the Princedom improving in general.

 

As a player, I wish to join the High Council for the roleplay. I think being in the seat of power would suit me well. Not to abuse it, but to use it properly, and wisely. And to create a nice environment for those who interact with me.

 

Do you have any work experience, if so where and what: I have partaken in the Wardens of Malinor, since Aegis through to Elysium. Though Asulon split my official connection with the Wardens, unfortunately. I have been a Commander of the Wardens of Ravendale, in which was a large village west of Laurelin in the great world of Aegis, in the First Dawns. This gave me a willing heart for justice, and for doing what is right. Nobody should have to suffer, at the hands of others nor themselves.

 

What is your opinion on the unification of the Mali?: A very tricky topic, and a very controversial one also. But my opinion is that all Mali should have the right to privacy, religion and preference. The line, I think, is drawn when some groups are not permitted into a district. Or to see their friends. Or to simply pass through an area, maybe even to just see the sights.

 

Malinor is called Malinor for a reason. It is not to be Malinor, and another group of Elves. And currently, for some High Elves to call other impure. Well, that is just insulting. But for it to stop, a middle ground has to be laid out, as the right to religion, opinion and expression of both is to be kept.

 

All in all, the whole topic is intricately riddled with traps. Each solution comes with a complication, and a disappointment for one or the other. But I'd definitely be more than willing to partake in a full discussion of these intricacies, especially if it is for the betterment of Malinor.

Express why you are suitable to be a Prince/Princess of Malinor: I believe that to be a Prince or Princess of Malinor, you are to be an accommodating, collected, and generally wise Elf indeed. I think, after two thousand years in admiration of Malin's ways, I have become just that. Though a wise person should never admit such, it is impossible to deny my experience in Elven ways. Though it would never be something I'd imply as a benefit. As the Elven way changes throughout the ages.

 

But keeping true to Malin's way is important to me, and many others I've been in contact with as well. From now until the end of my days, and even past that when we travel across the plains, I will be loyal to Malin. Malinor. And the High Prince. And of course, my fellow Elves.

 

Although the Elves have once been a secluded race, of privacy and secrecy. I believe that all races should be given a fair chance to see our realm, and embrace our culture. This is important in Diplomacy, and in general daily life. Being among your own kind for so long can be a stress. Sometimes, it is wiser to embrace another Culture. Not take it for your own in replacement, but to understand it. And see it's meaning, and why another can believe in it's way.

 

To fully embrace the Culture of the Elvish kin, one must simply look upon the High Council, their choices, and their efforts to improve the Princedom as a whole. For example. Prince Khel has been very generous with his time upon this realm of Elysium. Defenses were an idea thrown around limbless-ly by myself and other Elves. With a simple motive of protecting ourselves, Khel had employed anyone who wished to help to partake in the construction of a new gatehouse. And a new defense against any raiders or critters of the Night.

 

Another case of this Prince's kindness, and willingness to create Malin's second Golden Age was the defense against Evark the Lich. Although still occurring  Khel has clearly played an important part in the safety of Malinor, and this is because he has the power to do so.

 

That example was given as to show that I know what it takes to be a Prince of Malinor, and to be a part of the High Council. And that I have the willingness and attitude that displays the utter understanding of Malin's way. And the Laurelin way.

 

However. I would also like to stress how important the acceptance of others' ideas is to me. I wish to hear all that are willing to project their voices. Others' ideas are key in the progression of Malinor, and it's people. And even myself.

 

State your history of leadership or political role and how that experience benefits your leadership/political skills: I have led a Malinor Warden force, attended many public debate sessions that involved the betterment of Malinor (in Aegis), and have also spoken as a voice of our people in times of dire need (the Verge). Though I was young then, and now I am older, I wish to be accepted into the Realm's changing tables of discussion, approval, and inspiring voices.

The High Council is much like a governing body of Malinor. It works with politics alongside the High Prince, and each one of them answers to him, as well as providing their own point and pitch. Although that is the typical way of doing things, Prince and Princesses are able to start organisations with purpose to Malinor, and to have diplomatic meetings with the Lower Council, and other governing bodies of other Nations and Factions.

 

To make this a success, each Prince and Princess must report to each other, and keep tabs on every asset of Malinor. Each will likely be given their own stake in Malinor's bounty. Meaning; One Prince may be partially in charge of making Malinor's farmlands grow with plenty. Another example could be a Princess in charge of gaining the trust and unity of another Faction. Allowing them to see things through Malin's eye once more.

 

These are but examples of all the possibilities of the High Council. Myself, as a Warden would only be able to describe so much since the High Council is quite a tight group. Not many are familiar with their doings until they are put in place. Like the defenses of Elysium by Khel.

 

But other than their own goals and aims, which of course are in loyalty to Malinor's benefit, there are the Lower Council members. Which are to be given tasks and willed to make their own as well. Such as event organizers. There is usually a Prince or Princess at the head of each event.

 

The High Council are to decide on their own members, I believe. The same for the Lower Council (the High Council decides on them too.).

When we arrived on Elysium I focused once again on providing food for Malinor, and when our situation was more stable I built the Malinor Library. What is your opinion on the unification of the Mali?: I feel that the Mali'aheral, Mali'ker, and Mali'ame should continue to grow in their distinct traditions and customs. However, I believe that the three races of Mali should stay together, and keep their diversity while at the same time being unified in Malinor. So long as all cultures are respected, I believe Mali are more than capable of living in harmony with one another. ((I also think our roleplay benefits when we are all together, instead of being separated and spread thin.))

Express why you are suitable to be a Prince/Princess of Malinor: Despite my very young age, I feel that my time on the Lower Council and the current happenings on Elysium have prepared me to take this next step. I have proven that I will work wherever I am needed, and take on any task that I am capable of for the benefit of Malinor. I seem to be generally liked by most, which I suppose would be beneficial, and I am very sympathetic to others' plights. I would also be a voice for the Mali'ame, the race that is not yet as established as the Mali'aheral and Mali'ker, and currently has no representation on the High Council. I have experience with writing and bookkeeping, and am looking forward to expanding Malinor's collection of books and helping Malinor become the most culturally rich when it comes to literature.

State your history of leadership or political role and how that experience benefits your leadership/political skills: I have been on the Lower Council for many years before the fall of Asulon, and in Elysium I have found myself truly stepping up and taking on more responsibilities. When there was still no Foreman or Farm Master appointed many of the farm workers turned to me to make decisions, though I had not told them to do so, and I managed the farm until the positions were filled.

Explain how the high council works in detail: All issues that are voted on must receive a majority vote to pass, though all members of the council do not have to be present for the Council to vote. The High Prince or Princess's vote counts as two. Any Mali citizen has the right to run for Council Member, and they are elected in by the High Council. Lower Council members are also appointed by the High Council. All Princes and Princesses, including the High Prince or Princess, remain on the council for an infinite amount of time, or until they step down or are voted out. Any Council Member can be voted out at any time.

State any comments that you think may add to your application here: I would not have thought to request this position myself, however several people, many current and former Council members included, have told me that I would do well in this job. My only wish is to help Malinor and her people, and I would gladly step into the challenges that a position on the High Council would bring.

Why do you feel you are suited for Job Choice 1: Before one becomes upset, yes I am aware that the job I have applied for technically has no open positions.  My intention in applying is to offer for consideration an Event's Coordinator position which currently does not exist.  It has come to my attention that the process for official matrimony between elves residing under Malinorian law is non-existant. I feel this is a major oversight.  Official marriage licensing is taxable, and by requiring an official stamp upon unions in order to be considered official, you create incentive for proper law-abiding for citizens who wish to one day marry.  Also, you create the paradigm of societal unit--which is tantamount in your responsibility as a ruling body.  

 

Therefore, I offer for your consideration--a specialized position for an Event's Coordinator.  I would like to oversee the processing of officially recognized matrimony.  With the council's approval, I would use this position to design the official ceremony (including licensing and paper-work) and process for those desiring sanctioned unions, and create demand and thus tax returns for the government by turning each sanctioned wedding into an attend-able event.

Why do you feel you are suited for Job Choice 1: Through my life, I have always been a traveler, and this has led me to visit most nations, never staying long in each with Malinor being the exception. With these experiences, I have met many of varying rank and importance, a notable example would be Thomas Chivay of the White Rose, surprisingly we drank wine together, and it honestly wasn't bad wine. I served on the High Council of Malinor under High Princess Indelwehn and High Prince Haelphon, as the manager of Laurelin's housing and new construction. In Asulon, I served as Okarir'Acaln of Haelun'or, and my duty was to set up trade agreements with other nations.

Why do you feel you are suited for Treasurer: I have extensive experience in the fields of business and economics, and I have been responsible for duties similar to those of the Treasurer in the past. I want to help Malinor, as it needs a serious economic revival, and I think I am the Mali to do it.

*After much thought, Enyahs soon decides that this may be his best bet. He begins writing it as he sits in Oren, waiitng for someone. Thoguht when finished he goes on his way to the elven lands.      I think that Malinor is a great place,its one of my favorit places to Role play. I would love the job and would be very loyal to it.

I am a dedicated Lotc'er and from what i have heard from others a pleasure to Rp with, i believe that by applying for Steward will reward not only me but others with enjoyable Rp where everyone can get along.
