If you could, please explain to me why Bignsxxy is banned for 2 days for taking free bread that the monks were giving away, and how they would've known it was him?

Perhaps he had a family to feed?

Perhaps he's just poor.

Or maybe, he's a greedy bastard!

As I've been told countless times from GMs, solve it with RP, right? Why not get a monk to confront him after spotting him commiting the atrocious crime of stealing free bread?

I don't understand, and this greatly upsets me. I apologise for my flamey tone.

It does seem a bit off...I mean I'm sure the monks wouldn't freak out if a hungry man took a little more bread than they requested.

I thought it was established these petty crimes were able to be committed on the Monks despite the "rules" written up for what can be done in Monk territory. A ban is honestly a useless effort an enforcing those set rules and a warning would better suffice.

The monks give away free bread. Taking more free bread technically isn't stealing. It's free.

:idk:

This seems.. odd. They put bread in so infrequently that I have put my own bread in before, why would they ban someone for taking too much? It just seems wrong to me.

Even if he didn't. Should that be a bannable offence? It almost seems that you need to watch out for anything you do.

Also let me bring this up real quick about the villainous activities allowed in the Cloud Temple.

Villainous activity that is permitted: (All the non-violent actions)

-Selling/Buying slaves

-Lockpicking

-Stealing(goes hand and hand with lockpicking) as long as non violent

He only took half a stack, a ban is way too harsh lmao. A warn at the most would do imo.

I'll be honest:

If I got banned for 2 days for taking free bread, I'd be pretty mad.

-Awful joke below- by Rethlor

Monk: "LOL, THAT SUCKER FELL FOR THE FREE BREAD PRANK! BAN HIM NAO!"

I call BS.

I remember when Cappy raged on me when I told of my glorious escapade of dwarven bread gathering. Cappy gets emotional, and need I say butthurt about people stealing free bread. Monks don't exist anymore bro. Nobody refills those chests. The bread of course, is free. And there's bans over it.

Obviously the banned player learned his lesson as well. Why deny him?

Lemme throw this out there as a possible solution!

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/personalchest/

Something like this plugin would prevent things such as this from happening, as all players would have access to the same amount of bread, and one idiot wouldn't be able to take all of it at once. I am honestly surprised we haven't implemented this earlier as it could be used for events and the like as well.

-snip-

It's a neat plugin. We used something like this on our own server to give players equal amount of loot from dungeons and events, besides special occasions.
