Another mage could tell you step by step on how to connect to the void, but they can't mentally connect you or assist you.

Meditating can help, but it isn't compulsory

Depend on how detailed the book is, if it's just a 6 page simple guide then I doubt it has enough information.

 

And to your other question, yes, two in real life weeks..

Is there an age requirement to learn the magic or connecting to the Void? And when it says it takes two weeks for it to connect is that IC or OOC?

They're not supposed to do that. Your mind would get ripped by the void if you train in magic at such a young age.

Naw.... Magic team never goofed... that is because... ahhh... southerners develop faster and so he is capable of learning magic at ten. Gosh didn't you all know that?

How do i learn magic and contact a teacher

You do it in this order: Contact a teacher, learn magic. But it isn't as simple as that. I advise you RP normally, and have your character ask around inquisitively on who are the mages in this world who are willing and capable of teaching. Additionally, most teachers wish to teach a student who has proven themselves to RP sufficiently well enough to not perform any errors in magic.

Exactly what Hugo said, I would also advise asking around for a teacher as well. Make sure that you are an Adequate RPer and the teacher should handle the rest in teaching you if they are willing. Also "How do I learn magic" is answered by finding a teacher, he will explain the concept to you of void magic/deity magic.
